wasn't there today but heard tooley say he was his MOTM, since his return he has played well, is it a 1:1 save in each of the last 4 games, so question is he earning himself a contract? for me, he has been a good a nd reliable keeper since we signed him, i was never concerned last season when he was given the gloves, nor this, yes he's had the odd dodgy moment but i'd be looking to keep him, he may not end up being 1st choice again but he's certainly a reliable back up. thoughts?

Played well again today. Vital save at 0-0 as he did Tuesday. Not sure he was MOM though. Thought Palmer was outstanding

Boot is a steady keeper at this level.

But he’s not an outstanding keeper at this level

If you’re looking for a weakness in the side it’s not the guy between the sticks.
A new hope.

Personally, I do not think we could have a better No2 than Ryan Boot.

The question remains, can we attract a better No1 than Ryan Boot?

So, without doubt, I think Ryan Boot should be offered a new contract.

Boot is a much better goalie than some give him credit for. A very decent goalkeeper for this level, and he's much better than Thompson, although Max will get better, and if he was available on a free transfer, I'd pick him up as future number one, but behind Boot for now.

No idea why we have loaners as first team keepers, boot is confident with the ball at his feet, Thompson isnt

Odd comment. We sometimes have loanees as first team keepers as they are the better keepers than ours - Tyrer!! This year though Boot deserved his chance and has done well in the last 3 games.

I have always rated him as no.1 way ahead of Thommo and Tyrer, now he is proving it.

It’s not odd this year he has been better than Thompson but not got what he deserved imo

Correct Dave, I think Boot should have played many more times than he has, but that's just my opinion, and obviously yours too. He commands his area, he has good positional sense, great at one on ones, a good shot stopper, and he gives me confidence watching him, so his defence must feel the same.
I'd give him another contract, and hopefully sign Thompson for free.

As founder of the Boot fan club I’ve enjoyed telling a few people I told you so re Boot. He’s levels above Thompson and agree with lindave that he’s better than Tyrer.

For once I’ll join you mate. Certainly earned another contract, even if as No2.
