Bim’s hold up play is improving slightly each week.

His hold up play and work ethic are great but he still needs to be far more clinical when he gets a chance! Time is on his side though..

He's not got many miles on the clock. I don't think he'll be anywhere near his best for a year or two.

Observing Grigg, he might just be cottoning on to the amount of practice that is needed to acquire clinicalness (is that a word). Hours and hours of practice needed until it's second nature. Just like a golf swing.

I like him but it could have been double that with the chances he's had though! Hopefully Grigg will be providing him with with competition for his place soon....

....and plenty of advice too!

Played well last night and just like Saturday showed better running down the channels. Also one nice bit right in front of the away end - he clearly likes playing for us.

Bim Pepple is developing at speed, and I sure he's getting lots of help with his positional sense from both the coaching staff and from our strikers. Both Grigg and Madden must be helping Bim out on the training pitch, and it's good to see him amongst the goals. He's missing chances but he has to be there to me them. I'd rather see him miss three good chances and score one, than not be there at all.

Yep and 4 in 9 starts.

Could and should he have had more? Yes. He is improving though and he looked like a machine at times.

Wouldn’t mind him joining on a permanent in the summer.

He’s looked a different animal altogether last couple of games, long may it continue. Would love to see him tear Notts a new one on Saturday.

Infectious enthusiasm as well, I imagine he’s a great character in the dressing room.

There is some untapped quality in Pepple, he has a lot of attributes that will make him a top quality striker - Positioning in the box (Like Grigg), poacher style is an area of improvement. Get a consistent level of performance & more clinical in front of goal...he will be a serious player.
He's getting the chances, as proven on Saturday & last night...he's improved a lot over the last 3 games

He has more in his locker than Grigg has simply due to age

He has more of a future but he doesn't have more in his locker right now (barring the fact Grigg isn't playing).

Interesting how Southend fans suggested his better games were playing as a 2 with Macauley Bonne.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

He holds it up very well so I suppose playing with a partner up to receive knock ons and take a quick pass and visa versa would be beneficial.
I've notice at times when he receives the ball and holding it up, he's waiting for others to catch up / join him and by that time he's wrestled to the ground and lost the ball.
If we can get someone running beyond for a flick on or get someone up there quickly when he takes the ball and holds it up, we'd be more of a threat at times with even better link up play.
But, can't really complain too much as we've pumped a few teams this season.

Its potentially helped the last two games having Banks a bit further forward who is another bigger presence in the air for goal kicks etc.
