Yep was good to hear it get an airing, its a strange one in terms of club songs as most tend to get sung every game pre match etc whereas Sailing only comes out towards the end of games if we're winning. I was panicking a bit that we'd gone early with it on Saturday as it started about 82mins!!

Not an anthem thankfully, but it was pleasing that Newport fans didn't fall into the trap of singing the pathetic 'this is a library' ditty. However 'this is a llyfrgelloedd' is a bit of a gobfull.

The Hibs one is the best rendition of any anthem I have heard.

It's about time we had an Anthem of our own .This subject seems to come up a lot but never seems to gather any movement, ok keep sailing but what about a run out anthem special and original to Chesterfield FC what the fans can join in with you know Like most clubs seem to have apart from ours.

Ye sunshine on Leith book film and song fantastic represents the part of Edinburgh that Hibernian FC is based as well as Trainspotting 😱

Coming from Leith I wonder if the Proclaimers are Hibs fans and wrote that hoping it might become their anthem.

We could have had one, Carl Newton wasn't it who wrote one specifically a few years back. It was a bit naff and certainly not the proclaimers and it got slaughtered on here but it would have been unique and far better than that wheel barrow song Notts sing or that Everton one for starters and many others. Until people accept that football anthems are generally naff then they'll never be a consensus.

I always get amused when this subject comes up and people start pushing their ideas, they are normally heavy metal stuff, either so bleeding obvious or completely obscure that 90% would never have heard of it.
