Are any of the usual crowd that spout off on here at the forum? Dare they say anything if they are there?

Just shy of 6000 season tickets sold last summer for this current season is some effort.

I think the three most telling moments football wise were as follows..
Cookie. Last time I was here we had fantastic team with 5-6000 turning up, now we’re getting 8-9000 and we’re rubbish. In part jest I know
Cookie. We’ve got around 16/17 players out of contract in the summer and nobody has been offered a deal yet, so what do you think they’re thinking, it’s my job to manage that.
Danny Webb. Not towing the party line so to speak but just enjoy the rest of this season in L2 visiting grounds you’ve not been to for a while. We’re not as high as we’d like to be but that’s football. Paraphrased a bit I think there Danny sorry.

I think we all know the play offs are little out of reach now but don’t let it spoil your enjoyment of being the back in the EFL.

Finally, Phil Kirk ending the night saying he’s a fighter and he’s determined to carry on and see us back in L1 so he can spend some silly money.
I’m going to hold you to that Phil.

Made me smile from ear to ear reading Phil?s quotes. It?s evident how much he loves this football club and I can?t thank him and Ash more for putting their money in.

We?re all behind you mate.

good post, other take aways... cook not too keen on officials, with you there boss. Cook and Phil Kirk are absolutes rock stars and are supported by absolute rocks in danny webb and john croot respectively, the club is in a good place, current run of form is a blip in what will be a slow but good journey. The top table have all got each other's back and that is vital in success, once cook can get that back in the dressing room, we'll fly.

I genuinely don?t know if people listen to the content of that forum, how genuine & sincere this club is at! Despite all the challenges & expectations there is reality.

Especially when you hear Phil, a man who knows he has limited capability, visions this club to high end league one??I sincerely hope he realises that vision & dream before he personally experiences his reality ☹️

I despair at those doom mongers, it?s not rose tinted glasses, it?s alignment in a dream & possibility?..those short term narrow minded doom mongers on here aren?t worth wasting their breath on. The Kirks will take us above & beyond with Phil?s legacy driving that desire

Nice post mate.

I think everyone should take a deep breath and be grateful for everything including a top fella as owning our football club.

Enjoy the rest of the season and it sounds like there is more fun and entertainment to come

I think the vast majority recognise that and the ones that don?t are either on the wind up, or just pure mince meat for brains - you decide who?s in what camp of those on here.

That said, some of the stuff on here is relatively constructive at times, and nobody is immune from criticism and questioning about some aspects of this season from recruitment to injuries etc, but most of it is done from a good place.

Do I think we?ve got it right this season? Not really. Do I think our recruitment and medical assessments of some of our signings have been right? No. Do I think we will get it right next season? Without doubt

What I will say is the courage Phil showed to go last night is incredible. What a bloke, truly amazing and I am gutted for him and his family but here?s hoping his battle is one that goes on for a long time yet with as much success as humanly possible

I don't think many people dispute that the club is in the best possible hands, and I include PC as manager in that - he loves the club and the people of Chesterfield. In an ideal world, the Kirk's legacy will continue and the club will remain with their families and sensibly run, that's all folk want. Challenging in League One, would be an absolute dream for all of us. I used to love us flirting with the playoffs, under Duncan. When PC got us actually in them, that's the highest level we'd attained in decades, and the football was a pleasure to watch.

As was said last night; it's been a bad season and we rebuild and go again after the summer.

Every true Spireite wants the club to succeed, but with that success needs sustainability. I'd rather go steady and build a legacy that goes on than a boom and bust story.
With the Kirks in charge of the financial side, Cookie, and his staff running the football end of things, we want to think ourselves lucky, especially after Walter Pigeon and Renfield took us to a new low.
Let's get behind the lads today, no matter what.

The thing is with where the club is now, I have no doubt that we will learn from this seasons experience in order to do better next season/the future due to the people we have in place. There is no way I would feel like that with the last lot.

Where we are at compared to six years ago is quite telling.

Regularly getting 8,000 plus to home games.
Attracting younger children who will/are new Spirites!
Stronger financial backing whilst still not having the most expensive squad.
No longer in the awful National League.

Most games this Season have been tight affairs and very few teams have outplayed us. This is despite a long list of injuries, losing younger loaners to injury and I think the loss of Markandy has been a big blow to our attacking options.

I?m enjoying games this season despite the results and clearly we are in a good place with owners, manager and supporters.

Next season is key and hopefully with a fit squad some new players and a bit more luck we will launch a promotion bid.
