The Concerning Thing

Age has been no barrier to injury this season. Young and old have been out for significant periods. Tanton went back to Fulham because we couldn't keep him fit, Araujo would probably be giving Jamie Grimes food for thought if he was fit, Campbell hasn't had a chance to flourish, Gordon, probably the best signing of the summer is only just coming back, and Metcalf, another who has only just returned from injury. None over 30 years of age.

Cant remember with Palmer but Madden got injured pre season for sure, not sure if it was training or a friendly but think it was a friendly.
Madden was the Sheff Utd game. Maybe even Palmer as well I think.

Sheckleford, too. All three made their last pre-season appearance against them.

Both against Sheff u and it was a brutal match for a pre season game as I have witnessed anything like that in over 50 years of pre season games

Yes, you can add Mike Jones to that list, he got hacked down his Achilles, and the perpetrator got a Scouse gob full. Jones is one player we've could have done with this season, a calming influence who does the simple stuff very well.
