Yes, we?ve signed some older players and we?ve signed some younger ones. An average signing age of 25 this season makes saying we have a pensioner signing policy very silly!

Depends on how you define average age doesn?t it?

Mostly loanees where parent club pays there wages

We paid a good chunk of Markandays wages, Peterborough don't give players away so I would suggest we're also paying good money to them for Sparkes.
Then even if we pay nothing or a small fee for youngsters we still have to pay for their accommodation, food and travel expenses.

Errrr?. How would you define it?

We?ve signed 18 players this season, the mean average of their ages is 25

It?s a simple statistic that makes anyone saying we have a policy of signing old players this year look a little stupid

Araujo and Tanton were good and looked ready enough

Again, grandad army is a ridiculous take not backed up by reality

Of course it doesnt. 13 players in our building over 30 must be deemed too many. Our median must be way over 25.
Name another club with so many over 30s.

Average can sometimes be a little misleading. Example : 32,32,32,32,32,32,17,17,17,17. Majority of team over 30 but the average age is 26 even though we have no one near 26.

Five permanent signings over 30 years of age. Only two or maybe three if you count Daley Campbell of the other permanent signings are first teamers. They are 23 and 24.

The rest of signings are loans or squad/reserves.

So if you are talking permanent signings, I think you could argue that it?s an ageing approach.

Recruitment includes loans and permanent signings

We?ve signed plenty of younger ones players this season, hence the idea that we have a policy of signing only old players is demonstrably nonsense

Also, the idea that the amount of injuries is down to the age of the squad is ridiculous, plenty of younger players have been affected by injuries - this season has simply been daft for injuries across the entire squad

Agree with that last point. Loads were saying it?s because we?ve signed youngsters who aren?t ready and then others saying it?s the old legs.

So Donacien and Flecks failures to be injury free is just bad luck? Nothing to do with their age and history?

Wrexham have 11. With 2 at 29 and 4 at 28. Howard, 38. McClean, 35. Rodriguez, 35. Fletcher, 37.

Edit: Average age of their entire playing staff currently is 27.33, ours 27.96. Note these figures were done very quickly.

Neither had done any preseason training then pick up injuries through not being up to speed .

I?ve not looked back at donacien but generally over his career fleck missed very little football. His main one was a broken bone then made worse by the surgery to fix it being botched so had to be redone which was his absence prior to us. Going on from that the issue he?s had in the main this season has been unrelated to that.

Unrelated, apart from the fact he had been effectively out of the game, but for one appearance, since December 2023. The games littered with careers withering on the vine after a major injury in later years.

Make your mind up. You kept saying they were too old so got injured. Now you're saying it's down to lack of pre season and so not up to speed.
Which way will the wind blow tomorrow, I wonder.

Some other random ex player will score and we should be signing them probably.
Remember 3 weeks ago when Dallas scored, not a peep since.
Who put the ball in the Mansfield net? Super Jackie Lesterrrr
