I thought this was worth a thread to be honest.

10 years ago since we put this move together (link below).

The amount of empty seats in the stadium upsets me. That team deserved a full house every week. In saying that, DA and co didn?t. So, swings and roundabouts I guess.

I still long for that Ryan / Morsy partnership in the middle. Whether we?ll see the likes of that again, I don?t know. However, Cook put the majority of this squad together in his first summer with us.

This season has been frustrating but I trust him to overhaul a lot of what we have now and give us something special again next season.

Yes there were both forward and backwards passes but the difference was the speed and the crispness of them, that?s what comes with quality.

6497 was a decent crowd back then and might again be in the future, who knows.

The difference in play is pronounced, and it shows the need for movement of both ball and players. The worst culprit for slowing down the game is Oldaker, and the back pass king of selling a player short is Oldaker, but what's frustrating is that he's more than capable of moving the ball at speed and accurately took. Hopefully,in the near future, we'll see more moves like this one. When Fleck came on, the tempo went up and so did the ball, up field, that is.

Recall that well.
Of course the move started after Clucas won the ball in a turnover. In Clucas, Ryan and Morsy we had three players very able in the art of nicking the ball. On Saturday I think the only midfielder to win the ball was Dobra, I cant recall one other turnover in midfield.
Against that the times our midfield lost the ball were countless. That rarely happened with the three aforementioned.

saw this and agree 100% - its the pace of the passing that had them on the backfoot. players driving forward into space

brilliant stuff, what stands out to me is how comfortable everyone is on the ball and they trust whoever they are giving it to, ryan moves the ball but then moves himself to be available for the next one. this is where we will be working towards in the next couple of years i am sure, we just don't have the players yet who can deliver that type of football at this level.

Morsy has been superb for Ipswich so far tonight.
