Watching Newcastle game and the Gordon sending off, it looked as the ball was played through there was an offside if the lino had flagged rather than waiting for development the whistle may have gone before the entanglement. Why cant they stop trying to rewrite the laws?

Took the words right out of my mouth mate, there?ll come a time when someone gets a career threatening injury but the lino not flagging and letting play run on needlessly for that extra few seconds.

If that's a sending off why wasn't Smith at Swindon similarly dealt with?
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I have a standing comment at home games,'will this be the game where we have a competent lino on the west line?',the actual answer has been a yes on roughly four occasions in eight seasons. Not very good figures.
Your second line may seem in conspiracy theory territory, but it is something I do keep an eye on each game and you have described it pretty well.Obviously this is all about opinions, but I will not change mine until the officials follow the rules and be consistant. The two handed push in to the hoardings is always invisible to them even from a foot away.

Thankfully, we aren't hallucinating then, lol. Refs from days gone bye, we'll not count DE, would be shaking their heads at this crew. I couldn't imagine Jack Taylor making a hash of it week in week out or his linesmen.

Apart from your second paragraph, which is gross 🤢 I agree. However, folk have a right to express their opinion, even if it's wrong or you don't agree with them; insulting and abusing them (not saying you are, our Josh); especially, over football, doesn't sit right with me. Cook is a nice bloke and a good manager, and he loves Town....but, he does make some decisions that afford some scrutiny.

Anyway, Stockport required two bites of the cherry to go up, and Notts finished 14th in their first season back in league two; they're doing ok this year, but they aren't consistent. We don't have a right to be in the top 7, but I'd expect us to be in the mix. But, when you start with (there could have been a good reason for this) Oldaker and Metcalfe as your central pairing, you know you are in trouble before you kick a ball.

Madden is invisible and I've no idea what he's bringing to the table. Sparkes is excellent and I'd love him on a permanent deal. Yesterday, he pretty much ran the whole of the left side by himself. As already pointed out, he's the man making the runs and putting the ball in the mix; ideal for Grigg.

Grimes was at fault for two of their goals. Our priority has to be two CBs; I'm sure we're already looking at options.

Yep no problem with any of that and agree with the majority. Big diffeeence between your valid criticism and a few of the wallies playing disrespectful sh**e for a reaction. You?d never catch me doing that.

Injury-hit look at the age no wonder, I don't think Cook will be here next season, he has done as much as he can for this club

Thompson, Tanton, Campbell, Gordon, Coco, Shecks, Metcalfe, Arajio, Ty. Have all been injured this season and not one of them would be considered "too old"

I'm hoping that Fleck can stay fit and play a part in the rest of our season, because just like Macfadzean and Naylor, you can see he's played at a much higher level. When he came on yesterday, the ball moved forward and at pace. Oldaker needs to learn from him, and so broaden his scope for a pass.
I like Oldaker, but he needs to develop a range of forward passes at speed.

Totally agree, Fleck dictated the game when he came on, and when not in possession he was shouting at Grimes, Palmer and Banks where to pass the ball

Fleck looked quality in that brief cameo, similar to MacFazdean in his two games, head and shoulders above anything we have in terms of quality and vision. Hopefully they can stay for for another year

We can only be keeping them both if we are going to get 30+ games out of them given the limit on squad numbers. You?re right, they look head and shoulders above a lot of our players but they are no use sat in the stands. Hopefully McFadzean proves his fitness, stays healthy and contributes over the next few weeks as he is comfortably our best defender.

Fadz was an impact injury so you can't really avoid that. Fleck, me thinks lack of game time last two seasons and a hard pre season has took it's toll, hopefully a run of games getting in 60 minutes or so and he'll still be good to go next season.

He?s out of his brace. I?m hopeful we might see him late March, early April.

Not if Fadz is fit first, as only one spot left isnt there?
Or will there be a special dispensation for Tyrones replacement?

Just seen the highlights, very poor defending for all three goals. Sad to say it as he's been a player I have always defended but Grimes was shocking.

Snippet from Twitter from a reporter who generally gets things right, interesting bearing in mind the stick he gets on here.

A host of League One, League Two and SPL clubs are tracking Chesterfield midfielder Darren Oldaker. Oldaker, 26, has been a standout performer for Chesterfield this season and his displays have alerted a number of clubs. Oldaker is out of contract this summer. #Spireites

Palmer? I'd like special dispensation to get a centre half in. I think we just have to be reflective and patient. I felt no emotion at the end of the game....whatsoever.

for all his faults, i can see why he would attract attention. he is tidy, rarely gives the ball away, wins a fair few free kicks, can score a few direct free kicks. The issue with oldaker is the pace which he plays which could and should be something easily sorted on the training pitch by the coaching staff.
