Yes, David Layne had the Bluebell, but then took over the Castle Arms at the bottom of Bolsover hill. Pete Swan was landlord at the St Helens Inn on Stonegravels and the pub supported a Sunday League team which, when it first started was called Stonegravels Swan Athletic. (Later named St Helens FC). Thanks. I left town in the 70s and went back in years later for a nostalgic quiet pint. I opened the door and was hit by a wave of loud music which shattered the elusion.
I think Alan Walters’ lad ran it at one time, might be wrong.
