Following a post by a young lady from Sheffield on the "crowds next season" thread, and her mentiong her first game got me thinking, who can remember their first town game and was you hooked straight away.

Mine being the last home game 60/61 v Reading it was also our last home game in the 3rd division, trend setting

I'm told I was taken to watch Blackpool reserves as it was rumoured Stanley Mathew's was making a comeback after injury and dad wanted me to see him. Apparently he didn't play and I slept through the game in my pram, but woke up screaming near the end just as we were denied a penalty.
Things don't change.

Started following Chesterfield after I felt sorry for them on the vidiprinter on BBC Final score, lost 4-1 away at Rochdale and they were second bottom of the entire football league. Fast forward a few months later and the 21 game undefeated run to gain promotion out of the old Third Division. First game was a 2-1 home win against Bradford, 2 Nicky Law penalties the following season when my dad said I was old enough to go!

Don't know the game but seem to think it was midweek in the winter of 1989/90.

First game was the preseason friendly Vs Man Utd in 2002, first league game was against Blackpool at home in the 03/04 season and got my first season ticket as a kid the year after.

Remember Keith Kettleborough signing from Donny about 1964? Also the Stoke game when hordes oy young uns were sat on the edge of the pitch on the Cross Street end.
Also seeing Man u reserves in the Central league when rumours of an appearance by a certain Mr Best went around. Sadly only rumours.

1974 FA Cup 1st Rnd, beat Boston 3-1. Sat in the far end of the main stand, and went down to the little ash track at the start of the game to stand at the little gates to wave the players on and off the pitch.

2-1 home defeat to Port Vale same day as the Hilsbrough disaster.

Was nearly 12 but wasn?t allowed to go again without an adult til at least midway through the following season, luckily my mates dad or neighbour generally went so we stood on the kop with one of them.

1-0 loss at home to Luton, scored in the last minute by Showumni. Absolutely baltic. 2003 I think.

19th September 1992. 1:0 win at home to Carlisle. Wasn?t hooked. Went to a few games in the coming years. The 94/95 season was when I started going regularly. Hooked from then on.

I think it was the defeat to Bury in Feb 1985 when I went for the first time.

Just looked back and I think it was Reading at home, either Jan 83 or Jan 84. Can?t remember much except we sat in the wing stand and I think they played in a yellow away kit.
First definite recollection is being on my dad?s shoulders on the pitch watching Baines lift the Canon League Div 4 trophy in the Directors? Box. There?s an old Derbyshire Times photo of the scene online somewhere, taken from behind us. Dad died a couple of years ago and I?d love to find that pic if anyone recognises the one I?m talking about.
First football memory is the 1st game of the following season. Phil Brown unleashed a 30+ yard screamer into the top corner at the kop end for a 4-3 win v Bury. We were bang in line in the wing stand (again) and the memory is still emblazoned nearly 40 years on (I was 8).
My lad?s now 12 and been hooked for a few years; absolutely love my away days with him (except MK and Walsall, but that?s all part of it- character building!).
