Quite a few younger than him including one 14 year old and several 15 year olds.

Yep I?d doubt that record stood for all those years.

Correct re Davies. Davies made his debut away at West Ham in the cup as a sub and made his home debut against them a couple of weeks later. I was there that night as a 15 year old and remember thinking he was going to be some player - especially after he dumped David burrows who tried to flatten him earlier.

I was also there didn't he get the one I can't remember ,what I do remember is was invited into west ham players bar after ,keV Davies was in there with the team ,with his baby face they'd only serve him like lemonade or soft drink ,a funny story of which I've many

I had it in my head that it was Julian Dicks who flattened Davies who then returned the favour a couple of minutes kater, but your right it was Burrows. That's the point I thought no one is going to bully that lad and they never did.

I was in the West Ham end that night but near the town fans who were in the corner of the upper tier of stand, as I didn't get a ticket due to Upton park being redeveloped and us getting a smallish allocation. The West Ham fans were waving gold credit cards to taunt the town fans and one town wag waved his UB40 back at them.

I also remember jumping up to celebrate our goal as they were 5 nil up thinking they wouldn't bother about a lone town fan enjoying a consolation goal..... but I was very, very, wrong about that and had to make a hasty exit!

The West Ham game we were stuck on the M1 in a huge hole up but just made KO I think. If I remember right he was, maybe still is, the youngest ever player in the cup

I went to that, stood in the home end as well, worked in Sunbury at the time and got the Underground from Richmond, took forever, we had a tiny allocation due to ground redevelopment

Davies really made his debut as sub against Walsall just before the West Ham away first leg where he also came on as sub.

As the tie was already 5-1 down, Duncan threw Davies in for his first start against West Ham in the second leg at Saltergate.

Jamie Bettney came on as sub for his first appearance as well.

Before I really started following Town - just watched the highlights on YouTube. Norris made it 3-1 rather than 5-1 assuming it was in order. No sign of any Town fans on the footage beyond some noise when we scored!

Dave?s posts haven?t made sense for a very long time now.

Thanx for that, you obviously not taking into account my age and obvious confused memory lol.

I was convinced I was right, definitely we scored direct from a corner, remember Jack?s goal at their place and remember Big Kev playing against them early in his career.

I also rember sitting in their main stand when we scored, loads of town fans jumping up in unison - happy times.
God I hate this league.

Did we score twice direct from a corner at Field Mill, Duddfield into the North stand when we had three sides and won 1-0, then a cpl of years alter Gaz Davies at the QLE when we won 3-1?

I vaguely remember Davies nearly chipping the Walsall keeper from the edge of crowded penalty box and though blimey that was precocios

That was my first and only visit to Upton Park. Went with my Grandad who was completely unfazed by going in the home end!

I was also sat in the stand which also housed the Town fans at the far end. Like others have said we had a small allocation but I remember the away end made a fair old racket for the entire game.

Lee Chapman scored a few for them if I remember right.

Can't remember the order of the goals mate, but I got dogs abuse. I sat it out for a quite a while, but when I was advised I WAS A CANT and to FAK OFF BACK UP NORTH before I got a kicking I decided discretion was the better part of valour and that it was time to head to the tube station...

....and that was just from the 4 girls sat behind me! :D

Remember being in stuck in traffic going and we missed their first 2 goals!! We then broke down coming back and had to wait at Watford Gap services for another coach to come to take us home!!
