I?d give Akinola the edge slightly but neither do anything for me.

It wasn?t a terrible decision
He had some great games when on loan previously
He ran some games against higher opposition league clubs

That would be in all the mere 11 games he had a start then?

who you going for then? it was a straight forward question by the OP which seems to have split opinion one way or the other

I was very surprised we went for Akinola this time around as I thought he did little at NL level. Certainly Cook didnt seem to rate him, giving him so few starts.
I would go for, narrowly, Metcalfe.

fair enough, i have to assume akinola came very cheap, as it did seem he hardly got a look in 1st time around and was quickly discarded 2nd time around, the biggest issue i think for akinola is that he is above the age threshold in as much as he takes up a squad place of a senior player, metcalfe doesn't, i would suggest if akinola was under the age threshold he would have figured in the plans a bit more... all my own opinion so take it as you want.

I'd rather have Tim Akinola but it's all down to how we see different players. I still think there's a decent player in there, but he can only merit so many chances before it's time to part company.

Akinola's omission today might be significant. Not even on the bench.

Yes, perhaps he's the first out on loan. It sounds like we've had loan enquiries for a number of them but the % of the wages being offered is not enough to make it worth our while.

Yes Dave Metcalf and Drummond were excellent today loads of running and some great skills and hoping Metcalf injury isn't too bad but he got a right kick on his Achilles

Akinola for me everyday over Metcalfe.

Don't understand why he's not in the squad, must be what he's showing or nit showing in training, but he's by far the better of the 2

Not involved with reserves earlier today 🤨

Not been today.

However, Jenson's a nice, tidy player. What I like about him is that he's certainly more positive in his approach to the CM role than others.

He'll get better given the opportunity and game time.

The youth team sat behind me were swooning over him earlier.
Here we go again!

After today?s match reports, sounds like now is his time. Subject to his late injury.

He's a couple of years older than his contemporaries today but still only 20 (and OOC this season).

Think he's got an extra year. Signed a 4 year deal in Sep 2022.

ok, ta.
Confused by TransfermarkT. 2025 expiry refers to loan contract with CFC.
Damn. Everton will want him out on loan next season at a higher level.

They might want that but he's not likely to get that without an increase in minutes and output between now and May.
