Our support over the last couple of seasons has been phenomenal. Bathed in the feel-good factor, fans have turned out in their droves home and away.

Despite the fact that we were the bookies' favourite to go straight up this season, I suspect not many of us thought that life would be that simple. That said, I'm sure we all felt we'd do better than we have and believed we would be sitting in a playoff position at this stage of the season. Despite a couple of decent wins, our recent form (particularly away) has been a major disappointment, and confidence of a playoff berth has all but evaporated. The thing that concerns me with what is likely to be a dead-rubber end to the season is that the 2025/26 season ticket sales will drop off pretty dramatically. The crowd base will begin to dwindle, and income streams will be greatly squeezed.

Boy, that result yesterday has really depressed me!

I don't think things will change much next season.

I think the crowds will tail off this season especially if we don't get a grip and season ticket sales will be reduced next season.

Momentum lost, our new found fans won't necessarily come back until it has re-established.

Worry is we finish bottom half, and chuck in a few stinkers of performances, crowd will start to dwindle off.

One things for sure transfer window need to be spot this summer. Apart from Sparkes, if we do manage to sign him on a permanent deal, the back 4 from yesterday should not be here next season in any capacity.

Well at least I'm not relentlessly slagging off individual players like others are doing, so I have some distance to travel yet.

Remarkably after a defeat, there's not been a massive amount of that.

Wow I would hate to see it when the crowd turns. After reading the forum I thought we were getting rid of almost the whole squad. It would appear the only players we are keeping next season are those that aren't our players.

I am realistic enough to realise we are fielding players especially in defence that are 2nd or 3rd choices. All good enough to fill in for a few games but not good enough to form the basis of the defence.

To be fair he didn't play yesterday and I'm not suggesting he plays next week either if it is out of desperation on a glue pot of a pitch with the whole team feeding him suicide balls.

To be fair, he is only at our club to trying and get fit after a major layoff.

To be fair, this thread is about next season's crowds and I acknowledge my part in taking it off piste

the trust are doing some really good work in the community to engage a new and young fan base, i work in lots of schools too and the amount of kids now how support town is quite incredible, even saw one at walsall yesterday, so i'd like to think on a long term view we are setting the club up with a renewed support going forward for years to come, thing is once you're hooked, generally you're in it for good.

Despite what the bookies' thought, I wasn't expecting a stroll to promotion. I think we would be sitting in the the top 5 now if it wasn't for our horrendous injury list.
In a way we are mirroring Notts campaign last season, they showed great promise to begin with, and were one of the bookies favourites for promotion, but fell off second half of the season.
Personally, I don't want us to go this season, I think it will be too much too soon. We just need a season to consolidate and then with some decent signings and returns from injury we can make a better job of it next year.

I think the crowds next season will be smaller I doubt if the kop will be all sold out
And the other side behind the goal will not have so many season tickets sold , chesterfield fans come out when we are doing well but as soon has we start losing they want to spend there money on something else than watching the mighty chesterfield

Depends on performances. I can see a couple of thousand down if we are middle table for most of the season.
