Yeah at the game and being at the other end I didn?t realise just how good of a chance pepples was , he should have buried it. The defeat was made more disappointing because of how well we played first half , we made them look very ordinary but then we came out second half a different side , the ref was really sh?te but we looked so so poor for a 15 minute period where they got the 2 goals but after that I felt we started to play again. The less said about the 10 minutes added on the better. It was really bad. 😂

I see people are calling for Cooky to go over on Facebook, folk are thick.

Agree, thought we did well 1st half. And how the push on Sparks for the corner wasn?t given I?ll never know.

That said, we were shocking in the 2nd half. Their keeper didn?t have a save to make, we had no drive and the subs were bewildering in terms of who and when.

Playing devils advocate I suppose based on rumblings I?ve heard.. but don?t be surprised to see a few curveball teams sent out by Cook. We?ve too many players who have promotion contract extension clauses so going up would be a disaster. Mid table finish in our first season back & throw the kitchen sink at it next year with a fully rebuilt squad is the plan, allegedly.

I hope that is nonsense. If that is remotely the case then it is a sign of mismanagement at the top.

We are already carrying baggage into next year.

That goes against all the public noise made but I'm not going to get wildly disappointed. When I need a jolt of reality I look at the NL table/results and am immediately cheered up.

It certainly does and it also goes against all the January window activity both actual and rumoured.

Wasn't at all impressed by Walsall. Such a shame that we aren't harder to score against.

😳
Do they have promotion contract clauses in place from the national league days for winning that division that have just rolled over in to this season, or are they league 2 specific do we know? That's a wild contract if it's the latter.
Here we go again!

Can't see that myself. We wouldn't have bought in the likes of Fadz, Sparkes, Bim, JD, Duffy, Olakigbe etc in Jan if we didn't want to give it a right go

Watched the lowlights.

Shocking defending, end of.

Neither corner competed properly then Shecks...just giving up like that is simply unacceptable.

No complaints when Donacien gets the shirt next week...

Don?t think the linesmen changed. Assumed the 4th official became the ref and then they found another 4th official. Though no idea why the injured ref couldn?t be the 4th official. He?s only standing there

Exactly. And he could do it sitting down quite easily.

The stand in was 4th official.. and didn't have a clue what he was doing to start with..

Pretty much like the stand in ref, who denied us fouls, but gave them to Walsall for the exact same thing, ..

That said our defending 2nd half was atrocious.. and our attacking was poor to say the least

A good day out ruined by a very very poor second half. At half time I was confident we would go on to win comfortably as Walsall had offered very little. How wrong was I...

Kamikaze defending and a poor ref totally undid us, not to mention a few players looking like they had given up. Which Naylor literally did when he couldn't be bothered to run for a ball that didn't even go out. I know his legs have gone but that was ridiculous. He wasn't on his own though. Oldaker and Shecks had second half nightmares and I can understand why Cook was fuming.

Can't comment on their 3rd as we had just walked out given that it looked like we would never equalise. Standing in the pouring rain at a crap station watching some minor skirmishes didn't help improve the mood either. But a few more beers in Brum and Town and catching up with plenty of mates certainly did !

I really thought we would be guaranteed top 7 this season but it's going to be consolidation instead. Be very interesting to see who gets offered new contacts come May, as some I thought would cut it in this division haven't!

At least the hundred quid I won for Grimes scoring anytime helped pay for the day! Every cloud...

Don?t disagree re: Naylor?s legs going but he was clearly offside and chose to leave it for someone else to chase rather than just giving up

They were at the other end of the platform from where I was stood but some Town made it onto the platform where Walsall were and swung a few punches. It also went off on the bridge between the 2 platforms but I couldn't see that! So I will go Town 3-1...🤣

Admit Naylor was poor, but he didn?t chase that ball because he was offside.

We made the mistake of waiting for the 540 train which didn?t turn up until 615 because someone was on the track at Walsall.

Fair enough I didn't notice that (slightly alcohol impaired) but he also neshed a challenge 30 seconds later. I've always rated him but yesterday was a very bad day at the office for him...

The trains were a nightmare all day. Packed to the rafters and some couldn't even get on the 2:15 to the ground...it made the London underground rush hour look quiet!
