Surely, even if a player is considering his future is not with us he should be trying to impress any would be suitors.

There will be a lot of players out of contract at the end of the season which means competition for signatures.

I would agree with that, there will still be contracts to play for, here or somewhere else. I didn't swallow the rational for dishing out contracts left right and centre last season.

Fair assessment by Cookie.

Players falling short in my opinion are:

Madden
Colclough
Mandeville

There are others but these players are senior and have no excuse for being poor or inconsistent

All living off scraps, Mandeville just recently.

In fact Mandeville was the star performer in December when we were fielding scratch sides and playing better than we are now with all the returnees and new signings. Very unfair for people to single him out.

Not bothered if Colclough leaves, infact it might be for the best. That won?t be popular.

Won?t bother me , he is a complete lightweight and we need a proper frontman

As for Thompson he isn?t a patch on boot, I?d put him slightly ahead on shot stopping and on penalties but in every other department and certainly distribution he is light years behind, looking forward to telling Bucky that

Colclough has been poor since his ?incident?. He needs to take note of how hard Dobra works. Yes, it doesn?t always come off for Dobra. His end product is up and down and he sometimes runs into trouble but he never hides and keeps trying.

I look at what both Mandy and Banksy do for us and I wonder how DJ gets a game in front of both of them. If that's not a discussion point in the dressing room, then it should be.

My view is DJ is essential in there, Mandy one of the most consistent and Banks ain?t pulling up no trees of late. Besides being not available for those 3 games how professional/ team player was that and at a time we needed everyone to perform.

He's not in Cook's starting XI and was the 5th of 5 subs so isn't flavour of the month with him either.

Come on Tim, 5th sub !!!! I can?t understand that reasoning, surely all eventualities are considered with the bench.

To say Colclough should leave beggars belief. Others come to mind, who aren't mentioned, way before Ryan.

Explain why Oldaker is essential.

What do you mean 'come on'? He was 5th sub.

I don't think he's particularly suited to a wide roll right now. His best performances were in the middle when we were down to the bare bones.

Well obviously DJ is Cooks preferred player. Maybe because he has a decent free kick with a chance of a goal and the occasional decent pass. But most fans would prefer Mandy as he rarely gives the ball away, and more often than not will try to go forwards whereas DJ tends to do too many sideways and back passes. But what do we know.

I would have Mandeville in the starting 11, even in a central midfield role

He brings energy, composure on the ball , just can't see why we only giving him 5 mins.
Yesterday he should of come on instead of Colclough, who just isn't interested at the minute, was even moaning and waving his arms around towards the bench and he'd nit been on 10 mins

Colcloughs situation may be sorted by other means with his impending court case.

April 2026 is the court case date isnt it? Meanwhile word on here is that there is an automatic contract renewal in play at the end of this season.
