Cook also said the club was and would be moving forward and if the players wanted to be part of that, they would have to prove themselves on the pitch (or words to that effect). I think he said that to them in the dressing room after the match.

Just watched the brief highlights back.

Pepple will lie awake tonight thinking about that miss. Definitely a foul before the corner for their first. What on earth was Thompson doing (or not) for the second? Sheckleford's brief giving up for the third looks abysmal.

Look closer at their No9 Matt for the second.
Sly grab and hold on Thompson's arm.

I find it interesting that while many are having a go at Shecks, we did at the ground as well, Cookie and his superior football brain appears to blame those feeding him the ball when they know he's under pressure with Walsall setting traps. Perhaps in hindsight the criticism is harsh? I haven't seen the build up to their 3rd goal properly, a girder was in my way.

The boot or Thompson debate is irrelevant as they are both toss.

a bit harsh, i'd say that neither are what we need to sit at the very top end of the league, speaking of keepers at the top end of our league what a classless human being their keeper is.

Never seen a goalkeeper being bollocked by his own chief steward before.

Their keeper was a complete .......... Not been to a league game away for years. Hre was an arrogant little kid who was ushered off by stewards after taking the ..... when someone threw a packet of crisps at him. Just a kid who will get lost in the mix over the years

Plays for England U20s so probably not. Think he has a promising career ahead of him.

I think next week there'll likely be 2/3 changes to the starting line-up. There's not a huge amount we can do really. He's unlikely to stick Fleck in. DJ was fine first half and played one magnificent pass across the pitch to Olakigbe. Naylor looks to need a rest though. Donacien will definitely replace Sheckleford. And perhaps Boot in for Thompson.

as can banks & even grimes. the one pass a game doesnt make up for his general lack of energy or drive. he has the abilities to dominate games but just takes the easy option all the time, receive & pass back, receive & pass back. keeps the ball but gets us nowhere.

Naylor looks off the pace/unfit

He looked lazy at times today, which is something I wouldn't have levelled at him before.
These go to eleven.

I would start the pair of them (Mandy and Banks) next week in place of DJ and Naylor (can?t believe I?m saying that about Naylor but he looks a yard off the pace at the moment)

I agree. Every player can have a bad game and you need your team mates to recognise that and have your back, which is what Cook was saying.

For the 3rd goal Shecks gave the ball away and then just stopped as the Walsall fella sprinted towards the goal. 100% effort is a bare minimum IMHO and when you've given the ball away it's a non negotiable obligation to bust a gut to rectify the error.

I like Shecks but seeing him just give up for the 3rd made me really annoyed.

Their manager says that they changed the game by marking Oldaker more closely. That should create more space for others but nobody took the bull by the horns.
On't telly, it looked to me as though Sparkes played on with an injury. Hope I'm wrong.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

He?s carried a lot this season, played majority of games and is basically in need of a rest. Trouble is he?s got no equal.

Look at yourselves, I know it?s with hindsight but scapegoating does no one any favours. The elephant in the room is injuries, changing personnel and loss of key players at important times for weeks.

Unlucky ? I?d say so.
God I hate this league.

Their third goal if anyone is interested as to what people are talking about when it comes to Shecklefords lack of effort after losing the ball.
