The Earl of Chesterfield, on 12 February 2025 - 11:05 AM, said:

Okay, let's turn this on it's head, Rob - do you honestly think Dalton was being serious?

Really?

That her comment wasn't just a facetious response to an equally facetious prompt?

As tongue in cheek as my 'work done' post, perhaps.

A quip, of course, which was always gonna be used by hostile media regardless of context.

Again, I think the general public are more than capable of grasping that. And maybe we're all guilty of forgetting that today's headlines are tomorrow's chip paper...

After
Just 6!months the polls show what the public are grasping, and it?s a tick in the box for reform, not for labour
A new hope.

I agree there?s no long term vision but then what do you expect from short term parliaments filled with career politicians? Rhetorical Q.

Trouble is who joins who?

I think you have to take the country on a journey with a clearly set out long term vision and give them some values that you stand for and then focus every priority on meeting those standards and achieving that vision - just like you do in business, just like Maggie did and to a lesser extent Blair.

Well Farage might accept a few Tories into his govt if they give him the main gig, the LDs will go with Labour as their policies are most aligned and siding with the Tories didnt do them much good last time!

Greens may have the balance and hold the power.... ;)

The sooner the mainstream political parties read the mood music of the country and stop telling the public what they should think then the sooner the better

But that won?t happen so they will continue to put their heads in the sand and hand momentum to reform.

And in 4 years time blame the public again, just as they did over brexit. You?re wrong we know better. You didn?t understand what your voting for etc etc etc.

Our work here is done isnt it

Starting to become very clear why Raynor and the Tories want to postpone manny local elections. It would be a total wipe out in some wards.

Aside from then first past the post system, based on the popular vote reform would be a major power

The tired old rhetoric of Nazis and far right isn?t washing with the public

Truss says we want a Trump revolution 😂

Quote

Britain's shortest-serving prime minister believes Britons want to be taken over by a Trump-style "revolution".
Liz Truss has been at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, where she's said Donald Trump and Elon Musk's style of governance would go down brilliantly back home.
"We want a Trump revolution in Britain," she said at the event, which is also being attended by Nigel Farage.

Is there anywhere less appealing in the world (Barrow away on a Tuesday night)? than the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington?

I?ve already done a sparring session and a sauna- I may have a coffee now as you suggested.

Gary Glitter though? Farage has done strange bedfellows

Yet more sneering and smearing of Reform and Farage and yet more parroting of the danger of far right politics by the SNP leader today. They just seem to want to keep alienating millions of the voting public. The same SNP who have turned areas of Scotlands cities into drug riddled ghettos concentrating on the mythical far right again rather than sort out Scotland’s problems.
Nothing to do with Reform surging in the polls in Scotland is it?
Running scared.

Russian Nigel digging his own grave here. You know it's bad when Priti Patel becomes the voice of reason. Seems like the Tories may've seen their driving wedge between themselves and Reform. Reform are Russian sympathisers, Tories started the support for Ukraine, the UK public overwhelmingly back supporting Ukraine so may as well make political hay. The right wing vote splits further - lovely stuff.
