I?m sure targeting a young inexperienced striker for criticism who has likely never played in this lone striker system before alongside the attacking midfielders, many of whom have just come through the door as well, is absolutely the way to go

Gordon feels it's worthy of a new thread to pan the lad. But then what he knows about football you could fit on the side of a matchbox and still have room for his phone number.

This is what being a football supporter is all about. Slagging off a young kid who has come in to help us out and is trying his best. You?re awful.

He's played 324 minutes.

Fair enough. Strangely I thought his first appearance was Bromley for some reason. Still, I stand by he needs more time to settle in, and arguably hasn't had loads of help from midfield

Exactly this. As a lone striker it's a tough job even for Grigg with all his experience and skill to score, so how do you expect a young lad from the division below to cope ?

You make a fair point. But Cook and co have presumably signed him to play that role...

Did Duffy go off injured after 8 minutes or have I read it wrongly?

I?m old enough to remember some quite mediocre players up front for Town over the years. Pepple to me is as less effective than players such as Mark DeBolla and Wade Small, who did a job but were never ever likely to score many goals.

I remember inadvertently punching woman in the face on the kop when celebrating DeBolla?s goal against Stockport to put us five nil up. It was then disallowed. I was very apologetic, of course. Ashley Williams played very badly for them, as did Ricky Lambert and Luke Beckett. I think their manager was some oddball named Chris Turner.

Not only did he get two poachers goals tonight, his all round play was decent and he got little support from the ref. There is 100% a decent player there.

So pleased for the lad. He was loving the celebrations and he looked chuffed to bits on the pitch at the end

His celebration for his 2nd as brill. Not seen a player jump into the crowd to celebrate a goal for a while, love it

Love to see players who are so pleased to score. Deserved tonight for his unrewarded efforts before tonight. Chuffed for him.
