1 year contract extension if he hits 25 games this season

Per Soccerbase, 24 games to date. Good stuff CFC and Coco.

It appears the intention was to sign him all along, the loan made it possible for him to play on Tuesday whilst the structure of the deal could be agreed between both clubs, which has now happened. I think this could turn out to be another good bit of business.

So do I. I know nowt but I wonder if this has happened in part because Lincoln have signed Clucas. The fickle finger of ......etc etc.

We've suddenly got summat we've been desperately missing - a spattering of left footers in Duffy and Fleck providing balance. And just for good measure, I thought I observed a subtle tactical change - much more shooting from the edge of the area, from Duffy, Dobra, Oldaker.

The shooting from outside the box was a noticeable change in both the Port Vale and then Bromley games.

I think that was due to us finding better positions rather than any outright tactical change.

So, does that mean the coach will not be working on it,and does it mean he will not be trying to improve that side of his game? Are you suggesting he is not capable of improving his game?
I think it is valid to say that keepers do improve with age and experience, more so than outfield players. Not disagreeing that he needs improving in certain areas, but I think it fair to say that any time spent watching MOD or the EFL show highlights how even at the top end of the pyramid how any keeper could improve their game.

How was he today?
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Agree, I?d be looking at Sparkes permanently as well if possible for next season.

Sparkes looks an upgrade on Gordon. (Not a criticism of Gordon)

Me too, Lewis Gordon is a class left back and defends so calmly. He may not be so good going forward but, he's getting better at it. Sparkes,I like and he's a slightly better full back than Horton, but is he so much better that we need to bring him in full-time, I'm not so sure.

I think this depends on a number of issues -

If Sparkes was to be signed on a permanent basis what would be the cost of his transfer?

Has Sparkes just been signed on loan to cover for Gordon whilst he recovers from injury?

When is Gordon likely to be available for selection again?

We definitely need 2 left backs in our squad but would either Gordon or Sparkes be content to play second fiddle?

Horton has proved adequate cover for Gordon and can probably consider himself unlucky to be replaced by Sparkes but I do not think he will be with us next season. Could he move on today?

From the bits I've seen of sparkes I like him. As I understand he can play anywhere in the left side with a fit Gordon it gives us lots of possible options. Gordon was my man of season till injury

I've a feeling that Gordon is out for the count until the season is over, or would we have brought in Sparkes and Donacien? I like Horton, and I'll be surprised if we take on Sparkes full-time, because Horton is adequate cover for the left back position.

Yes,I understand he can cover both full back and wing back positions. Gordon is so calm and collected,he reminds me of the way Bobby Moore played the game albeit from a different position. Great player, and I'd go as far as to say, he's the best deal this season alongside Macfadzean, just a pity both are crocked. First season back in the EFL and the treatment room is like a warzone.

It did but it was a bit crowded at times. I'd like to see PC give Duffy a run on the right and, as he seems to have two good feet, either cut in to his left or cross with his right. A bit like the last Dilan.

Can anyone help with the words to his song which was sung Thursday night please?

I believe it was something like this but wanted to check,

When the Samba rhythm starts to play
Dance with me
Make me sway
Dylan Duffys running down the wing
Scoring goals
Makes the Spireites sing

Can't read that and not sense a degree of bitterness.

And claims we're trying to emulate Wrexham and Stockport? That PC's one of the lower leagues' highest paid managers?

Nonsense.

I think the truth's far more straightforward: the Berry sale funded the signing of a lad who's been on Cook's Irish connected rader for quite some time.

All the rest is just bottom lip wobbling. I mean; the idea a boss with his record of recruits would hire someone after 'only seeing them for one game'?

Ridiculous...

We?ve signed a lad who?s slotted straight into the first team, and sold a player who was more often used from the bench, and got a significant amount of money left over.

Great business by CFC

Lot of guess work in there?.guesses the fee, guesses the sell on, guesses about how we want to do things and assumptions about cooks wages followed our spending all add up to an article worthy of a dodgy national paper! He?s also ignored the fact when talking about the deal being made permanent it was reported we had signed him on loan as it was quicker so he could ply that first game he was here and it was always the intention it would be a permanent deal.
