Add in Notts County, Grimsby, then Bradford City plus others that may have brought in over 1000.

Not sure the North Stand experiment makes pure financial sense throughout the season. Obviously there are less tangible advantages but it will be interesting to see if the experiment continues next season.

These are all obviously valid views but so far Notts County was 10,032, Grimsby Town 9,325, Walsall 9,035, Port Vale 9,077 and Bradford City we haven't played yet.

Looking at the season as a whole Doncaster Rovers and Bradford City will probably be the most significant in terms of lost revenue for not allowing the North Stand for away supporters.

Conversely there are a few others where the crowd might have been reduced slightly by allowing away supporters the North Stand say Accrington Stanley, AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons.

I would imagine the same situation will apply next season whichever league we are in as hopefully we'd be stronger, and more challenging for promotion next season if we're in league Two.

We lost quite a lot with only 19 people on the coach yesterday due to the early kick off but we'll be alright over the season which I guess is probably where Phil and Ashley Kirk are at with the overall attendance figures.

Cheers Paul.

Well said, Paul.

The opportunity cost is significantly less than what some fans call for and that's filling the corners in! Having the North Stand dedicated for home supporters allows us to grow and accommodate our fanbase.

I'm not sure why it's proving that difficult to understand.

Who said they were?

I was replying to Bonnyman regarding the Doncaster fixture and how the club will lose out on revenue. I was just pointing out that fixture is not a one off. They obviously realised they would lose out on individual fixtures when the away side brought circa 2000 and were happy with that loss.

What so difficult to understand?

However, we have had gates of over 9000 and the ground only holds just over 10000. If we gave over the whole of the North Stand to away fans it would take over 2000 away supporters to get close to our maximum.

Yes, there are some Clubs that might bring that number but more that will not.

Surely, the long term strategy has to be to build up the number of home supporters and this can only be achieved if we limit the number of away supporters with the current over all capacity being what it is.

Ticket prices in the East and West stands are greater than in the North. That offset's some of the loss.

Security costs are far greater for securing the whole end rather than just 2 sections of the East Stand.

Why urine off our 400 approx. season ticket holders in the North Stand for 6 games. Many of them bought season tickets in there because they are the joint mist affordable. Some of them won't renew if they had to move to more expensive seats. There's nione in the South Stand. More lost revenue. All imho.

Finally, imho, again, this is not an experiment. It's how it's going to be for the foreseeable future.

I presume the 500 free tickets that the Trust is gifted every home match are all north stand seats?

Agreed, if home crowds drop then the club may regret selling season tickets in the North Stand.

They seem to be in N1 but they tend to block out a chuck of seats in N4 that are rarely occupied come match day

Getting a decent striker in on Monday will hardly be cheap, and then he may well not gel. I'm so glad that I don't have to deal with the negotiations for this one, plus we have several who'll need to go out on loan, probably Akinola, Hobson and Drummond at a minimum. We can probably add Campbell and Palmer too.

If they left Palmer go (which I assumed they would when we signed Mcfadzean) that will leave only Williams, Grimes and Naylor. Apparently Donacian can play anywhere across the back but so far he hasn't even proved his fitness yet.

I can still see a CB coming in tomorrow.

Wonder what will happen to Jacobs? He was supposed to be back in training.

Nothing would amaze me, whoever comes in but I've a feeling it'll be a striker, and Drummond going out on loan. I can see your point on Palmer, but if Donacien needs to prove his fitness, then what's he been doing whilst training at Ipswich? He is supposed to be fully fit and ready to rumble.
As for Jacobs, he's hopefully back mid February, according to what I was told, but it's only a rumour,so it can be taken with a pinch of salt mate. I'd like to see him back firing on all cylinders, because he's one decent player when he's on it.
All will be revealed today, and hopefully we can go home Thursday night with a big smile on all our faces, because I'm still thinking playoffs.

its a pity we could not have sorted ticketing out ,we have missed out on donny selling all the away end, which has cost us 20k,evening crowds are always down and it would have been a 9k crowd

They have sold out (slowly).

It?s just what used to be the schools ticket offers, trust initiatives etc. having the north stand for home fans has allowed a permanent spot for these offers/groups in N1 rather than being moved around the ground based on north stand availability like in previous seasons.

As someone else has said, it?s not an experiment, it is here to stay and it has worked really well

The Trust still do the 'school offer' tickets, this Thursday they are on offer @ ?10 adults and ?5 for 16s and under. presumably they are in the North Stand, too.

Assume they come from the 500 the club gifts the Trust?
