My problem with Thompson is that he doesn?t give the impression that he is in command of his area, this may come with experience..
I don?t think he passes the ball quickly enough at times, again an indication of his indecisiveness.
Finally his kicking is awful.
He is a decent keeper but we have had much better.

Of course you are entitled to an opinion. But when you respond with points blaming Thompson for goals that didn?t happen and goals in games he didn?t play it doesn?t look great.

Thompson is a poor keeper. We have had a series of poor keepers at this club since the early 90s. Mercer, Pollitt, Fulop, Lee were all class keepers for us. Tyrer was a good keeper, but always had the odd mistake in him.

Tyrer will make a career for himself in the upper reaches of the EFL, Thompson is national league north standard.

Thompson is a young lad learning his trade with us. Yes, his direction and speed of distribution isn't his best attribute,but his all round abilities as a goalkeeper aren't too bad, so I'd expect him to be a decent goalkeeper for division 1 upwards in a few years from now. He's here to be played,not sit on the bench I'm afraid, like it or lump it.
