I?m still struggling to come to terms with the fact we played a short free kick right at the end instead of just getting it in. Brain dead. Hold me? 😢

When Thompson had actually had made his way up from goal and into their box as well. I mean what did they think he?d gone up there for, to do a bit of sight seeing?

I was absolutely raging for the rest of the afternoon, purely because of that. I hope Cook dished out some severe bollockings in the dressing room just for the pure stupidity of that short free kick.

Totally agree. My bigger concern is the lack of leadership on the pitch that allows that to happen!!

I wasn't giving the screen my full attention I'll be honest as my stream was far from perfect but I thought Olakigbe was very decent.

Colclough was poor as he invariably is on the right.

I?m not sure our management team are into stats but colclough does nothing in the right , he had an assist as a sub a few games back, but apart from that he does nothing, his contribution from the left far outweighs but at present even that is not good enough he is one of a few players that are not cutting the mustard, another is Tom Naylor, I?m not sure what has happened or if he needs freshening up but he looks leggy, I think a lot of us was fooled by pre season and him playing centre back, he looked different gravy against derby, but pre season is at that level just about ticking over

I realise we have had injuries but the side put out was still decent, tactically we are easy to suss, it?s same old same old, go forward at the same pace , pass pass chuck another pass in to give them even more chance to recover shape then get it out wide before crossing poorly or into the opposition, every opposition manager must say work hard off the ball regroup get your shape and be patient , teams know how we play and they know we give them chances
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but people are slating Cheltenham's style of play, but is ours really any better to watch? It's the same thing game after game. Slowly pass, pass, pass (often backwards or sideways) until we get it wide for a player to either put in a poor cross or cross it to the box where there's not enough players to connect with it. I'm not saying 'lump it forward', but I'm finding it increasingly boring to watch. A 'fast' attack once in a while wouldn't go amiss. The only time we upped the tempo yesterday was when we went behind. Even then we took a short free kick at the very end, which was farcical, but predictable.

Agree to an extent , I do enjoy watching us tho and when it works we look fantastic but we need more urgency , port vale at home for example , down to ten men , level game , we should have been hammering their goal for the last 10 minutes but we never ever seem to sustain any attacks , like those 10 minutes spells where you can feel a goal coming. We make it easy for teams to regroup , we have an attack and then that?s it for another couple of minutes, it?s never sustained for a period of time. The noise should have been fantastic but it wasn?t because we still stuck with the slow build up and it doesn?t get fans on their feet especially when you should be searching for a winner. It?s just a little underwhelming for that stage of the game. That?s not me advocating the gerrit forrad sort of style , you don?t need to knock it long , you just need to move it quicker. Honestly can?t believe we played the free kick short , think I need some counselling. 😂

Ironic that an outfit lacking spark lost Sparkes.

His position being from where the opportunity creating fumbled shot emerged.

Yet another promising player lost to injury.

But for all the blaming of Thompson we created next to nowt ourselves.

Dobra clearly targeted, Madden largely anonymous and neither Duffy nor the (gotta be said) unimpressive Olakigbe offering a real threat.

Oldaker won and ran with the ball but, as so often recognised, lacks penetration.

Pepple held it better after coming on whilst Colclough looked lively, though we were up against an unambitious and remorselessly long ball side.

Which made the late sucker punch even tougher to take.

Simple truth is we've lost our main attacking talent through injury, re-call and the price being right.

So no surprise we're now witnessing a stuttering season.

Play offs highly unlikely, but still happy with our direction of travel...

Olakigbe was excellent yesterday we all said that coming back from Cheltenham yesterday , don't get the unimpressive bit? Yet when Colclough came on he produced nothing. Like Cookie said we should have been coming home with a 0-0 , if Thompson pushes the ball away from goal like any decent goalkeeper should instead of straight back into the danger area then we would have had that point.
