I'm sure there's more than me struggling with this.

We named 19 initially, then filled the gaps to 22 plus they let us add Hobson in place of Jones. We've lost Berry and Markanday to take that back down to 20 but by my reckoning all five January additions need to be in the named 22 as they are over 21. Suspect Araujo may go back this week but as yet he is still with us.

It depends on who's out for the season, before we can decide who's in and who's out. Looking at those brought in, I'd say that Lewis Gordon and Chey Dunkley are probably done for the season. Obviously Mike Jones has already been confirmed and now I'm struggling because Will Grigg could be back mid February, Williams could be ready in a couple of weeks so I'm as confused as you.

Well, I reckon that adds up to 26 players over 21 plus Connor Cook who had to be named in the squad for reasons previously given = 27 in total.
If we assume 2 will be out for the rest of the season then we need to move out 3 players over the age of 21 to bring the squad back to a total of 22.
If we do that, I think we are light on U21s in the squad especially if Aroujo goes back to Fulham. We started off with 4 - Tanton, Aroujo, Metcalfe and Thompson in our U21s - but this could soon be reduced to just 2.
At least, we can loan players out after the transfer deadline to the NL.

The ones let out on loans and then recalled make up the numbers are the ones most likely to be moved out again. None of them have done enough to cement a place in the team for Cook. So, Hobson, Akinola, Drummond could be loaned out again.
Then Ash Palmer has not made the squad yet either so definitely needs game time and has to be high up on the list of expected departures.
If we have had any offers in for any of our players which the management consider are acceptable then this will also play a part so it should be relatively easy to reduce the squad numbers down to 22 or less.
Also, I would not be surprised at another signing or two before the window closes.

We don't know what the details of his contract is here. He may be on peppercorn while he proves his fitness or a big fat contract with an option in his favour or somewhere in between.
It doesn't look like he is going to impact this season, so.....

It's the other way round. When he was good Fleck was box to box. That is, both.

I didn't see the injury, but if it's just a gash then presumably it's just a case of it healing up? Couple of weeks? Surely better than doing a hammy/achilles, not that im a physio
