I?d like us to stop with the short corners tbh. That adds to the faffing and they always fizzle out anyway. I?ve said it many times , I?m not a gerrit forrad sort of guy but on corners just get it in the mixer with pace. Cause havoc.

Honestly cannot remember an effective short corner from us,hate it when they do take one.Was always told to drop it on the penalty spot, nowadays it seems to be straight into the keepers hands, suppose I will be told 'it's a percentage thing'.

Didnt Liam write that Sparkes put in something like 17 crosses?

I stopped counting at 8 but 17 doesn't surprise me. Most were very tidy crosses as well.

Very common in Cook's first spell here.

Also like the look of Sparkes, good crosser of the ball, attacking, he's a Paul Cook full back for sure.

Shame we haven't got Joe Quigley to head them in!

Crosses arent all about a big bloke heading it in....just as dangerous if not more so is a good low ball across the goal mouth which are the sort Grigg feeds off.

Reading the Vale forum, it's pleasing to see Dobra irked them and some of their bonehead and neanderthal supporters.

Assuming we are in the same league as them next season I might just write to the Shanahans asking if they can leave a doormat at the exit of Vale Park so we can wipe our feet on the way out.

He was punting them in to the near post as well. Perfect for Grigg.

A couple of extra days training will hopefully get Pepple/Madden on the same wavelength as Sparkes to get on the end of those crosses. I though he put some great balls in the box.

He's noted sparkles for getting crosses into the box ,a decent centre forward would cash in on some ,that's if we had one .

I may well be wrong but I am sure I heard Webby say that Grigg is looking like mid Feb. Like I say, I could be wrong and it could have been in a dream I had.

And the non penalisation of the push in the back continues to confuse we supporters, There was an instance on Saturday where Dobra was sent yards forward of the ball he had full control of- play on.
Our players should experiment. When a defender is shepherding the ball out for a goal kick, give him a mighty shove. Bet that would be penalised.

Pity Walsall read this first - see the Sparkes corner concession.
