Dobra Rumours

Really hope he doesn?t go as he will be missed more than Berry. As some have said he is presently easily our most important player and will be hard to replace. This is compounded as Colclough appears to be in decline.
I know rumours are inevitable as probably are bids, but to those who claim to be in the know about all such things is there any firm basis to this and what?s the likelihood of his going?
Guess I?m seeking reassurance.

We may have had totally undervalued offers for Dobs and the club have told them to get lost as they are way off the mark. The truth is we are and always will be a selling club and if an offer we cant refuse is made then for the long term future of the club then the offer will need to be accepted. There will be a short term pain but long term it allows us to invest in other players. Its a nice feeling to know we have players that are attracting interest from other clubs and we can make money from selling them. It wasnt that long ago we couldnt give our players away, therefore its down to the excellent owners of this club to make the correct financial decisions to ensure the long term viability of the club to go in the right direction. Mate, there's always going to be rumours especially concerning players like Dobra. Some are made on boards like this, by both those seeking attention, and others who have a valid interest in a player moving on and there's the papers trying to sell a few more copies. I'm sure, there's been a few watching him for a while, and the January transfer window is crazy, with clubs looking for that magic bullet to save them going down, or push them into a promotion spot.
Markanday wasn't our player and Berry was fast becoming a lethargic shadow of his former self, but Dobra will be a little harder to tempt us to sell on I think.

Unless of course when he signed his new contract there was an agreed release fee, in which case if a club meets the valuation it could be slightly out of our control

Moondog said yesterday there was a release fee in his contract so it could potentially be out of our control. It?ll be shocking to lose all 3 of our creative midfielders in this window to be honest. Let?s hope it doesn?t happen.

It would be nice to. know where he got that from. I read it at the time as speculation on his part but after reading it again he presented as fact.

If you've not guessed, Dob's is my favourite player.

From day one, it was obvious what he was going to bring to our starting 11. He's a winner who goes out and plays like every game is his last.
There's no doubt in my mind that he will rightly get his move one day, but there's a fine line between the right move and moving for the sake of a transfer.

The problem is, that not all agents think that way and regard the player as their commodity. They care about the here and now, with them advising the players to move on a whim.

Well, yes- though Oldaker stepped up well at the start of this season, he seems to have gone back to his old pedestrian ways. Any reasonable bid for him must be worth considering as I?m not sure he?s ever going to kick on much, playing for us.

Eh, all I did was respond to someone on Facebook who said his release clause had been met but we had refused to sell. I just pointed out that this was a contradaction as we'd have to sell if Dobra agreed terms which was a comment about release clauses generally
