McFadzean looks just amazing (apart from his early miss pass).
There was an occasion mid second half when one of their players was attempting to win a pass down the line, and you thought, I know what is going here, Kyle is going to send player and ball into the East Stand.
Instead he not only won the ball, but in the same movement he passed it on to a home shirt. A delight to behold.
Our biggest miss is Markanday.

Likely to cost us a play off place, losing him ... plus Grigg to injury.
Berry gone not helping. Now I'm reading there's a bid in for Dobs....that'd be all the players who can score unavailable!

side note, North stand end is the place to be these days for goals.

You'd guess McFadzean was a good 5 years younger. Looks good for next season on that showing.

Ran over to the west stand and kissed the badge on his shirt... hopefully not a goodbye kiss, we need his flair.. colclough (who again spent more time stretching out than actually on the ball) is such a waste for a starter.. much better for me as a sub against a tired defence.

Completely agree. He is by far and away our most threatening player. I?m surprised we have kept him so long.

I?d say he?s been our only threatening player for a few weeks now. He desperately needs some help because no one else seems to have a goal in them at the minute!

Realistically, at 8 points off the play offs with several teams in the hunt, we need to win about 5 in a row to get back in the top 7. Are we consistent enough to do that?
I just can?t see it happening.

But there?s 20 games left so we don?t need to win 5 on the row, point or two better than those above here and there.

Unless things change we should aim for mid table

I expect a better showing on Tuesday against Bromley, when the new players have had more chance to train together. Of the new players, Donacien looked tidy apart from the odd pass going awry,Sparkes looks a decent stand in for Gordon, but if he wants Pepple to get on the end of his crosses they need to be more accurate,Pepple didn't really get much of a look in but worked hard. The stand out amongst the new players was Macfadzean he was different class and I'm glad we've got him.

thing is shecks is capable, he does it every now and then (by which i mean i've seen him do it about 3 times since he signed) he just doesn't seem to back himself, there were periods of the first part of the second half though where no one else seemed to be playing right side for us, so he was recieveing the ball with little support.

But casual defending emanating from Fadz' equally casual back pass delivered exactly that.
'Vale were then offered the luxury of sitting behind a well drilled defence and hitting on the break.
Whilst the exit of Markanday, Berry and Grigg meant we lacked the invention or experience to create a moment of magic.
Or a sending off.
After that an even game turned into an exercise in attack versus defence.
One way traffic.
Thankfully Dobra was able to capaitalise where the rest couldn't.
Positives, though.
Like Pepple. His physicality is a step up from Quigs. Like Donacien. His positional sense and awareness is two steps up from Shecks. Like Sparkes. Ditto our other left back options.
Though clearly rusty Fadz put his error behind him, too.
We're rebuilding. It's gonna take time to integrate new faces. With more to come, I understand. I stand my pre season ambition of competing for a play off place with ninety mintes to go. If not? We've the owners and manager to go again in August.
And hey, nine thousand plus again?
How can anyone be negative about this football club...
