Still not enough up top ,just like I've been saying all week, weve lost 17 goals that need replacing sharpish.

Unfortunately I can't disagree with you there Warfey, our only goal can from their mistake and they never looked like making another

It was nice to see us shooting from range in the first half but to no avail and probably why we stopped

Tried to do the Will Grigg thing to little effect. It's a tough gig in our side.

Made it difficult for ourselves conceding such a sh?te goal early doors , I always feel it changes the way you play , no matter whether the manager comes out and says you stick to your plan (not just cook , any manager) you don?t , mentally you are chasing straight away. Wasn?t great but far from awful. Colclough needs to get his head out of his ?rse tho. Hopefully our new signing isn?t injured 🙄

Had nothing to work with at all. Not a ball into his feet in the box all game.
Don?t think he had a single shot, let alone on target.
Not his fault mind.

Put it this way I dont think he's an adequate replacement for Grigg and that's being kind.

What winds me up is, we get a throw in in the final 3rd and it never goes forward, you can't be offside from a throw, someone run in behind, ...but no we chuck it backwards or short to play in a tight area...
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Very poor, very lucky to have got a point there.

Lucky to get a point? They had one scuffed misdirected pass all game that ended in the net. They were the lucky ones. Not easy to score against a back nine. Couldn't believe dobs missed the other chance he had.

Oldaker to casual, no urgency and cant tackle, sideways & backwards. (Decent free-kick taker though)

We were no better when Metcalf came on, replacing Oldaker, again sideways and backwards; both want too much time on the ball.

Metcalf, Tanton & Araujo, all youngsters in a mans game, totally different to the Premier U21's.

Hobson is a better bet and he's our own player to develop IMO.

Sheckleford offers zilch going forward, never goes past a player and always looks to pass it back.

Not once did he attempt to go past a Vale defender in the 2nd half, he's a decent defender but offers nothing going forward.

Numerous times he was passing backwards and the momentum of the attack was lost with Vale getting players back...... IMO !

2 points lost again today, need wins, 3 points and very soon.

I said it earlier, I fear we lack that bit of cutting edge up front.

There were some promising signs today but Vale did a number on us today and they are very good at defending, the worst possible start for us and yet never felt they would score after that.

We do need a winger though, Colclough is more effective on the left but with Sparkes in the side it would probably get congested there

Still prefer Boot in goal, Thompson just takes too long and can?t kick a ball to save his life

From tiny acorns?.MacFazdean and Sparkes look different level, need Banks back and to get the zip back in our game there?s quite a close grouping between us and second. I still think we can push on but the loss of the goals is a big issue.

Glad it?s not just me that thought that. Even 11 v 11 Thompson has not had a save to make.

Solid point against a strong team. Obviously prefer 3 but folk seem to forget there is an opposing team that are trying equally hard to win the game. We?re in a mini transition with the players we have lost and brought in. It would be dim witted to think they will all just instantly click.

Thoughtfully said.

Thought Shecks was ok. Agree about Metcalfe/ Hobson. Metcalfe's parent club wont take him back?

McFadzean looks just amazing (apart from his early miss pass).
There was an occasion mid second half when one of their players was attempting to win a pass down the line, and you thought, I know what is going here, Kyle is going to send player and ball into the East Stand.
Instead he not only won the ball, but in the same movement he passed it on to a home shirt. A delight to behold.

Our biggest miss is Markanday.

We had the same conversation. I thought he was going to put him in row 12. A lovely touch.
