Yes. Considering when in Grimsby you haven't a clue what you're picking up on your footwear, it's worrying to consider Thompson may have been wiping his face on said towel. Gutter humour, typical of Grimsby.

Regards the pre match tribute, we, hadn't a clue what was happening, no communication, and what appeared to be a bloke miming on a set of bagpipes, we thought that maybe it was remembrance thingy for the cod war.

What was the logic for sending a few town players/staff (Palmer 1st half when he's a sub) to sit with the away fans? Someat physiological?

It would have been strange had Palmer been a sub but he wasn't!

Agree there coach especially when you compare the all round performance of Hobson.
God I hate this league.

One half negative today?

Thought Oldaker had a quiet game...

Some tired players out there in important positions, Oldaker,Naylor and Manderville.

Considering the Xmas exertions we were unlucky not to take the points.
God I hate this league.

Shame is we are now 7 points off the play off places. We have to go on a proper run soon. At least we have stopped the rot of 3 successive league defeats.

We all know what is needed but that top half of the table has got to show some bad run of form for some teams and a good run from us.

That won?t happen on both counts because everyone has strengthened and Walsall are flying. We need a bit of luck on our side with the injuries and a steady collection of points with the hope we sneak in those play-offs.
God I hate this league.

Ahhh! So he wasn't. It was based on seeing him warming up on the pitch pre match and not being able to hear the team read out (was it?) or being able to see it on the screen.

The only announcements that I heard were the ones for the substitutions I think.

Can be said of Berry and Colclough who seem to spend more time with niggles than work on the pitch. Both on their day can be very good but they both are too inconsistent.

Is it a psychological thing with colclough and his hamstrings,he seems to be stretching them out even from KO, ??
And let's face it, for as high regarded he seems to be held on here, his goals and assists return is poor for an attacking player, he really needs to up his game..
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

That's about right, however there was some near kick off, nauseating rallying call by some bloke who knew what a 'mic switch' was for, trying to generate some noise from the home fans, it appeared to fail perhaps he shouldn't use words with 2 or more syllables.

Getting back to the match.

Overall happy with a point but we should have been leading at half time. We played some really good stuff in that 45 and created enough chances. I'm still shaking my head about the one Dobs somehow managed to knock over the bar!

Horton was my motm and I thought he played well against Rotherham too. If he can stay fit and carry on playing like that he will be good cover for Gordon.

Pepple works really hard and will be a handful. Physical and rolled a couple of defenders but how clinical he will be is still to be tested as any service dried up second half.

They went direct second half, pressed us more and we lost our rythem. Hobson and Mandeville put shifts in but Oldaker frustrates me, because on his day he runs games but yesterday wasn't one of them. As another poster mentioned Berry looked disinterested too, and needs to get back to running at defences. Maybe us rejecting the Blackpool offer has impacted.

Good to see the bench looking stronger but Araujo now being a long term injury is a real blow, given it only leaves us with Grimes and Horton on the left. Temporary reinforcement/cover needed in that area for sure.

All in all a positive result and with 2 quality incoming additions I can still see us being top 7....If there are no more sodding injuries that is!!!!!

There?s been some winners and some losers as a result of the change from 4-2-3-1 to 4-1-4-1. Oldaker has been a loser given he?s on his own in deep midfield so easy to mark and disrupt his usual playmaking. Dobra and Mandeville have been winners as dual 8?s.

Doesn't surprise me, he's always done it, he's stretching them out even before KO, gotta be just becoming habit by now

I'd alter Grimsby's but can't be bothered.

So many Grimsby fans have created in their heads that cook purposely ignored the remembrance thing. Genuinely getting themselves worked up over something that just isn?t true. It?s clear no one knew what was planned. Totally blown out of proportion. Weird fan base.

Probably if they let everyone know beforehand things would have played out differently. I've not known our supporters disrespect any form of remembrance, be it military or for fellow supporters. There are plenty of ways to let folk in on whatevers planned.
