Not exactly same I thought. Isnt one interview with Liam and one with Paul Fisher - the RS less nuanced. Rather than not in the building, more he has gone, and we have to assume he is not coming back.

Interesting that Blackburn are playing Portsmouth tonight and DM not involved at all. No point in recalling him and not using him. I have a feeling that this saga may not be over until the fat lady sings, so to speak.

What I find really interesting is that if they have recalled him why haven?t they made an official announcement like they have with other players? That?s the weird thing

I understand if he plays for Blackburn he cant play for another club this season. Head coach hardly seems to know who he is.
Consensus he is off elsewhere, whether its on loan or transfer unknown. Slim hope he turns up back here.

Because he is available to the highest bidder, be that loan or transfer, and we may still be in the game with others. Just my guess.

Wouldn't it be a turn up if he's unveiled as our player before Grimsby
Just find it strange that he's not been announced anywhere else (for such an exciting player), Blackburn apparently don't know where he is and Webb being all coy with 'he's not in tbe building' & 'he's not our player'.
Got a feeling we gonna be well happy come Saturday

Webb in the RS interview says he definitely gone back to Blackburn, but- quote- whether thats officially or not he is not sure - unquote.
Pick the bones out of that one.

Blackburn know where he is, Eustace may not because he?s not involved with the players they have out on loan but their loan manager who is also head of the academy will know where he is and it?s probably either with Blackburn currently just not the first team or with whichever club he is going to on loan.

He probably doesn't want to leave us and I think he's said that this is the longest run of EFL games he's had up to now. He probably knows that he could go elsewhere and end up sitting games out or coming on as an impact sub. It's a decision that'll have to be made between him and his club, but whatever happens I wish him all the best and thank him for a fantastic effort, he certainly won't be forgotten.

Be first name on team sheet and play games here or possibly be a bench warmer bit part player in tbe league above.
If it's aiding his development he/Blackburn are after, it's a no brainer

It surely must be very probable that we will be at the forefront of any bidding war. I'd suggest that PC knows more about the potential and future value of Dilon than anybody else, be they at Tottingham, Blackburn, or anywhere else.

To be honest, I think that Blackburn have been pleasantly surprised at his progress with us and they are trying to maximise their chances of getting a few quid for him now instead of releasing him in the summer for nothing. There's very little chance,in my opinion, of them extending his contract for another year, only to loan him out on a cut price deal to a lower league club for his last season there.

I suspect they fully intend to extend his contract unless they get a significant cash offer now.

Whatever happens, it's been a pleasure watching him playing for us, even for half a season.

I agree and let's hope it's us who will make that offer...if we can afford to within FFP.

Fear another Johnson scenario, where we might be able to afford a fee but second tier standard wages are beyond us...

As far as I recall, we never went in for Johnson (I think ?50k was quoted), which sort of spelled the beginning of the end for Cook

I can't remember the numbers directly, but I know it wasn't a very high one. I actually thought the club would gave jumped at the chance of making good money down the road, and the chance to give us a better go in the playoffs, because that's the way those running the cub would surely have seen it. If ever there were two players who would have made a massive difference to our chances of progressing to the second tier, Johnson was one and Doyle was the other.

He'll probably have to accept a significant drop in wages if signs for us or Orient. Might be better business for him to refuse a permanent deal and force Blackburn into a decision in the summer.
