FA rules stipulate that any loan move must be agreed by all three parties. The parent club, the loaning club and the player.

I don't know what you think there is to be found out. We signed him, he got injured. That's all there is to it. Any player can get injured. We have no idea of the finances, he may well be on a low basic heavily weighted to appearances in which case it's been a low risk gamble.

But tim Blackburn got him he lasted 17 minutes ,he had no pre season and then we signed him and lasted similar minutes, see where biscuit LL eggs come from ,yet he's still getting defended

I spoke to one of my mates who has been a chief scout at various clubs and he said in most cases the player has no choice in the matter as the club dictate where he goes for his development and his 2nd loan doesn't always go as well as his first stint unless he is going to a bigger and better club

Dave I'm told he's on a very basic wage with appearances etc coming in to play.
If hes fit and it works out great if it dosnt hasn't cost us a fortune.Dont get obsessed by one signing where the gamble has been proven one way or another yet.

Give it a rest lad, this thread is about Markanday not your weird fetish about Fleck and his legs. Every signing is a gamble, some work some do not. Get over it.

They do but the player often has little say

Depends if he wants another contract at Blackburn and if they are sending out to L1 it indicates he does. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

We knew there was a recall clause there. There usually is and we had to use them ourselves for different reasons not long ago.

Give over. They did us a favour and it's worked out well for all parties to this point.

Gordon is a big baby

I haven't seen that reaction on the Southend forum when they thought they were losing Peeple in the same circumstances. Disappointment is one thing but his reaction to every setback - Jesu

I was gonna post a similar sort of thing. We?ve done the same thing as orient. Im really disappointed but this is always the risk with loanees, especially ones who are already known to be decent footballers anyway.

If Dilan Markanday has kicked his last ball for us, I'd say thanks for the memories Dilan, good luck in the future and too bad it didn't last the whole season.
I have a feeling that Liam Mandeville will be playing in his right wing position, unless Drummond plays there, with Pepple up top.

Obviously, I would like Dilan to stay but, like you, if he goes I thank him for his efforts whilst here and wish him all the best in the future.

Mandeville has done well in his new role in our rejigged 4-1-4-1 but ultimately I expect us to revert to our normal 4-2-3-1 line up so he could move over to the right side of our three. Hopefully, we will have a bit more luck with injuries in the second half of the season and we will see more like a fully fit squad.

In such a case, I expect to see Madden central in the three, Naylor as part of the two, and Fleck involved. Donacien and Pepple will, logically, have game time too. A couple more signings etc and we might look like a different proposition. The expected timescales of players returning to fitness will play a part in deciding our named squad at the end of the window too as will any departures.

I hope to see Fleck and Naylor together playing well with Fleck fully fit. Mandeville has now got a stand in with Drummond back, unless he goes back to Oldham, and hopefully Jacobs will be back to cover all three positions behind the striker.
I think there are going to be several outgoings including loans before the end of January, but I just hope we don't lose anyone we can't afford to. I don't think we'll be seeing much more of Grigg this season, although I hope I'm wrong and I think neither Dunkley or Williams will be in the same boat.
It'll be interesting to see the 22 in a few weeks time.

Cook has inferred that a couple of our players are out for the season. I have a feeling one of them is Dunkley and suspect the other to be Williams. I do not think he would be referring to Jones as his situation had been announced previously.

The signing of Donacien and, possibly, McFadzean would suggest this might be the case too.

Pepple will be starting every game up top until Grigg is back.

Tanton going back would suggest he could be out for the season

Let's hope he is half as good as our last signing from Luton the great Rodney Fern all for the sum of 10k
