I looked at a different Orient forum yesterday which had a January transfers thread into its 3rd/4th page. There had been no mention of Markanday at any point until the tweet from O'Rourke surfaced.

Never realised or I?d forgot he was a loanee, but yes he gave his all when he played and apparently wasnt averse to signing on a full contract but claimed the club never got in touch if I remember correctly

He certainly was.
Looking back it’s surprising how many loanees we’ve had were very good players and had careers higher up the pyramid than we could ever have given them. Always better than sulking in the reserves.
