Another theory maybe these scratching for marks are aware whilst the ball isn't in play they aren't dropping bo..ocks and losing marks.

Would stats prove the final few minutes of a game tend to be the most hectic/contentious so the less played the better from a refs point of view.

Bradford last week 4 yes only 4 minutes added, we get a corner Grimes gets thrown to the ground twice ref stops corner being taken speaks to both (we only assume the assessor didn't see any of this manhandling of Grimes otherwise he'd have been checking the footage provided by the home team   Anyway after 2+ minutes the corner is taken, still assaults carried out by Bradford but ref conveniently spots an alleged foul by atown player, amazing. They eventually take the free kick, he blows for time. As someone said earlier in the thread complete utter cowardice.

And only 4 minutes when we beat Wimbledon - I was expecting 7 or 8

So was I. Two wrongs don't make a right though, plus we are well in credit. The question is why. For example we're currently paying good money to watch a well schooled keeper in the dark arts take advantage of an incompetent ref. Wouldn't you rather put your money towards your heating bill.

As I said earlier one of the best directives in years was to add on proper stoppage time. Bit bizarre at first but it worked. As I'm still turning up to watch professional time wasting, I guess the answer is no.

Is it really a problem for the TV companies. If it?s a main event, they allow plenty of time for post match analysis. They manage for Rugby Union games.
If its a Sky Sports app game, isnt the channel blank after a game?

I?d suggests it?s really not an issue for the TV companies at all.

Take something like Snooker. Watched by millions around the world (mainly fast east nowadays). Every frame is of differing lengths of time and they still manage to go to ad breaks in between, and pretty soon after a frame is conceded.
