On refection the MET forecast now shows heavy snow all night turning to sleet at 6am and rain by 9am. If that window slips a few hours it could put the game in doubt. I guess the team will travel up the night before though so that consideration will be removed. Do the authorities care enough about the fans travelling?
They are worldwide experts.

Snow warning for this area now extended until midday Sunday.

I?d imagine if the snows as heavy as predicted and does come from Saturday tea time until Sunday midday the decision would be taken well before KO to postpone.
We?ll probably end up with a light dusting anyhow.

They might bring a few. It appears that some were setting of at H/T during yesterday's game.

And siri just searches the 'net for your question, so is hardly at the cutting edge of AI either. If AI was able to predict the future accurately, it wouldn't be wasted in smart phones and weather predictions.
if you need an accurate weather forecast, you need to look out of your kitchen window lol
Yes it is. When people say it's always wrong that's tripe, they are right probabaly 95% of the time. As has been said they can never be 100% accurate and occasionally are a couple of hours wrong which normally doesn't matter, but where snow is concerned can make the difference between someone getting stranded or getting home. Despite being bang on most of the time what they still can't do is accurately predict more than a week or so ahead, five days seems to be about the limit. Even with all the technology they have today they seem to have realised long range forecasts are never going to be accurate as they don't seem to do them anymore, certainly not to the same extent they used to.
Who remembers the regular forecasts which attempted to predict several months ahead and amateur forecaster William Fogget on regional tv trying to forecast long range weather from pine cones and such nonsense?

Add in lots of folk don?t have the kit on their cars, not worth the expense for the odd day here and there, or the experience of driving in snow and it all adds up to causing disruption.

Bet Lindave could confirm that snow vehicles are leased ?

I know chesterfield/derbyshire council use or at least in the past used local farmers with snow ploughs on tractors for clearing snow. In terms of leasing I doubt they are many big snow clearing vehicles knocking about to bring in when required especially if it?s a decent amount of the country that?s covered.

Not wrong, people struggle to drive in a medium rain shower these days.
They also require 2 bus widths for their cars.

In the 70's I had a Morris Oxford with crossply tyres and I managed to get to work in that as did most of my workmates driving their MK2 Cortinas etc.
Snow didn't stop things then, and as for gaps drivers want these days, it's really laughable.
