Their keeper did exactly what he was allowed to get away with. He realised the ref was weak. I'd have expected a CFC to capitalise similarly. Though it's fair to point out the balls he had tj deal with were generally easier, his kicking was far superior to Thompson's.

*Just googled their keeper who I assumed to be ok his 30s. Either my eyesight is failing or he had a big paper round as a lad.

Their keeper was top quality today - his 2 saves from Markanday in the first and second half, then the save to claw off the line made the difference on the day.

On a separate note, I also really enjoyed Cooks post match interview - not many managers think about the long term sustainability of a club as much as he does, he has the best interests of CFC at heart in all he does and I love it.

Shocking shocking shocking by Hobson. No commitment there.

And, despite being slightly on his wrong foot our keeper was still stood upright when the ball passed by him. I at least expected a dive from him as it was not as if the ball was struck with any venom.

But where is the next win coming from? This side is not good, I?d probably say it?s bottom half national league standard based on the quality. I?m not saying we will go down, but we look incapable of competing even against most clubs in this league.

How many of our players would get in other sides in this league? Not many I?d guess.

Crewe looks another loss sadly based on this served up today.

Another thing that annoyed me with the ref was he allowed their quick free kick from the wrong position that led to their goal but kept blowing his whistle for us to take free kicks when we tried to take them quickly , from the limited highlights it looks like the ball has crossed the line or at worst a penalty for their defender stopping Dobra scoring but happy to watch again when full highlights with angles from behind the goal

One point for you to answer - who you playing up top then ? Typical negativity but failing to grasp the desperation of our plight. Drumming did ok at Bradford so if you?re the manager why wouldn?t you give him a go ?

Now answer my question please

Woah there! There was talk about playing a false 9 a few days ago. When Drummond went off it didn't seem to me that we were playing a set centre forward, which made it harder for attacking players to be picked up by defenders as they aren't used to it. Dobs and Hobson seemed to interchange playing more further forward and that could possibly have worked.

And, as you've riled me slightly by putting me in the negativity brigade, I will refer you to my comment that I have nothing against Drummond. I liked the look of him early season when he came on sub in a couple of games. Putting him up against a big, decent defender didn't work. We could have been a bit more creative in our thinking and as we don't have a seasoned striker at the moment maybe we should have been.
At the same time, Paul Cook must be in the conversation when we talk of best ever Town managers and unlike some on here I don't think I know better than him.
For the record, I am fully well aware of our injury situation. That is why I posted as I did.

Yeah shocking inconsistency again. Just bin the quick free kick off as a rule then there isn?t any of this debate. They clearly don?t get much right so maybe they just need to keep it simple. Wait for the whistle. He wasn?t the worst referee we?ve had but he was annoying as f?ck.

He still allowed the cheater to prosper.

Said it myself ref let them take a quick free kick no where near where the actual foul took place.

The ref allowed them to take a quick free kick from the wrong place.

As per the usual consistency shown by officials the ref did not allow us to take two quick free kicks later in the game.

We had an head injury plus another injury, several substitutions, a goal celebration, and the ref warning their keeper to hurry up every time he had the ball along with time wasting at throw ins etc yet only 7 minutes were added on. I expected anything from 10 upwards.

Another frustrating day, hats off to the effort again but it was evident especially second half that we were not going to pull it back with all the near misses.
I have stated on here how much we need to be behind the team, more so currently, but at the possibility of seeming hypocritical,I have to say Thomson should be out on the pitch until at least tomorrow breakfast practising his kicking. The amount of times he slowed the game down then kicked to an area devoid of blue shirts was unreal, the point being that he was continually putting us under unnecessary pressure. The less said about the second goal......
I would love an explanation from the officials as to how their keeper did not receive a minimum one yellow card, what kind of control is shown by telling the keeper to hurry from around minute three to ninety seven.I believe it has been said before that they are concerned that an early card could result in a second one later,so be it,thems the rules!

Add to that their CF who kicked the ball away early in the first half

I thought this was supposed to be an automatic yellow card.

Had the ref shown any control at all he could have stamped out much of the gamesmanship from very early doors and let MKD know he would not allow it. Instead he chickened out throughout the game and they took full advantage.

Gobsmacked their manager has been critical of the pitch, must be one of the best in the division, even allowing for the weather conditions.

For all the talk of their timewasting and gamesmanship etc, the easiest way to stamp it out is to not give teams an easy lead in games.

I said to the missus 10 at least, but rub salt into the wounds, etc with only 7 added, even with continuous time wasting in those final minutes he still blew after 7mins 17 secs

The clock should be managed as it is in rugby not by the ref. Stopped every time it goes out of play and the whistle isn't blown at the end of the game until the ball goes out of play.

We should have known what was coming when the clowns only added 2 at half time giving them carte-blanc to do what they wanted 2nd half. That's 2 games on the trot were game management as been absolutely shocking, to our cost. Everybody in the ground could see the keeper was taking the p...
after 5 minutes. If owt like the proper time had been added we may have managed 5 more attacks.

Why aren't they doing what they did at the start of last year and play the proper added time? They must have had a directive from above. But why?

What are you on about? He didn?t anticipate the other player?s movement, and it was half-hearted which I don?t expect from him. He didn?t take defensive responsibility.

Agreed. It was a 1970s Sunday League effort at defending.
