Wayne Rooney was a brilliant footballer but that hasn't been translated to the role of manager. Maybe the route Alan Devonshire took isn't high profile enough for him, but it's where he'd learn the trade. Throw some money into a club like Matlock,bring in a decent older manager to learn from and hopefully take them up to the next level, but I have a feeling someone somewhere will give him another job in the Championship or league one. So long as he doesn't come here, maybe he could change places with Nigel Clough lol.

Lol, he always seemed to play like he was wearing carpet slippers and smoking a pipe, but he seems to have livened up since he became a manager. He was a great midfielder but I think he's reached the pinnacle of his success as a manager.

He is late 60s now so dont blame him and i heard when he was once touted for gateshead manager a few year ago he could not drive so maybe that hampers him

Ok he aint the best manager but had he done out to be banned like bullying players, transfer back handers, not that i know off

Maybe rooney was always a questionable appointment but plymouth also seem another club with a budget dwarfed by many others and rooney is merely a scapegoat for there failures. What now for rooney, work lower down, work as a assistant or maybe buy into a club ala robbie savage or the class of 92?
