Yet another storm warning forecast . This one being arguably the worst of the recent ones. Could well keep the gate down.

For once, considering our injuries, a postponement could do us a favour.

Snow and freezing weather also predicted up to 5th January so good tactical work by the groundsman could help ensure the next two home games are postponed giving us time to get players in and back from injury so possibly
1 Jan MK Dons postponed
5 Jan Gillingham postponed
11 Jan no game
14 Jan Rotherham Vertu trophy minutes for returning players
18 Jan Grimsby new players and injured players returning and up to speed

Decent shout that!

Whilst I hate the weather cancelling any town match on this occasion given our injury list that would definitely give us some time to bring in reinforcements.

Even better if it caused a postponement.

They give weather warnings out like confetti these days. It seems to be ever since they famously got the eighties storm badly wrong they would rather be safe than sorry, although it is also the nature of modern society which tries and often fails, as it it isn't possible, to wrap everyone permanently in cotton wool.

People died, services and transport was disrupted before Christmas when weather warnings were issued

If the weather is not as bad as the forecast then this is a good thing. If the other way round just think of the backlash if there were deaths

You have a history of travel announcements and weather advice on here. Is there a reason for your changed position? Just an innocent enquiry!

Just a bit of advice for those of us living in the Peak District. The Environment Agency has just issued an alert for impending flooding from the River Wye. Paddle carefully on your way to the match tomorrow.
