I have always thought that shouting abuse at players during a game does not amount to support. Encouragement is support.

Discussion after a game about performances is a different matter because we will all have opinions.

For what it is worth, from the highlights I have seen, Berry looked ok and I do wonder if he performs better away from home. Could this be because of the home fans getting on his back?

In a word, no.

They played replays of the 'contact' in the box incidents and, to me, Drummond was just too lightweight. Berry also appealed for a penalty, but he wasn't even touched until he'd had the shot and, even then, it wasn't a foul.

Yes, they showed the Berry incident on the highlights and the ref got it right, in fact did they show it twice?!!!! Is it possible the earlier foul on Drummond was still in Berry's mind and he was going for a "2 wrongs make a right" scenario? We're certainly due a dodgy pen.

I was hoping, if only for the comedy value they'd have shown the dive by one of their players claiming decapitation (or someat) by Grimes, they didn't.

I was watching the game with 2 others and we awarded their player a 6.5 for artistic merit and 7.1for technical content....we couldn't believe the ref didn't award him a yellow card!

Definitely a candidate for a retrospective yellow, the means are there, introducing such punishment would certainly make players think twice.

Meanwhile perhaps some entrepreneurial tv bod could introduce a weekly show exhibiting all cases of 'manufactured under false fouls" and have a weekly muff diver award.

Could they tag on another one of all intercepted passes within the defensive penalty area that lead directly to the concession of a goal? Just in the PL would give a decent length filler show.

I think the award you're seeking is unlikely to be find it's way onto mainstream TV.

Are you suggesting no one can criticise a player without you putting them in the non supportive category? Or does this only apply to those who have to have someone to hate?
Everyone has a grumble at one time or another about a player's performance, but we have all experienced the blowhards who will incessantly attack certain of their own players
during games, mostly because they're know it all ar*eholes who have no concept of the actual meaning of support. It is those types to which I refer.
We are only seeing the beginnings of it for Berry, so I hope it doesn't spread to the sheeple amongst us. Time will tell. Of course Berry himself needs to be aware
of the need for the required effort but the mnagement will be well aware of any deficiences in that area. The lad has scored 10 goals this season & contributed a great deal so
we really shouldn't be at the stage where the habitual detractors are starting to smell blood, but we are.
