Ben Partridge is in his third or fourth year with us, I think. Certainly, he's been here for some relatively injury-free seasons before this one. Can't think why he'd change last season's winning approach, or why the club would change training very much from what worked last year.

It?s a massive job for such a young lad, how can he be dealing with all these players, I presume we have a team in to help out as nobody is returning quickly

Hardly surprising he not in the squad after limping off last game but that doesn't mean he is out for the rest of the season.

On the other hand anyone still believing Danny Webb's injury updates is naive to say the least

Danny can only go on what the medics say and is there any point in saying anything else. Opponents have alll the stats to look at so against us they just have to stay in the game and have a go towards the end.

We have to give the eleven on the pitch plus those sat in the stand for having us sat in just outside a play off chance. Patience is required but we have to try and be clinical when the chances arrive.
God I hate this league.

When was the training pitch relaid? Has that had an adverse effect??

There will be several in his sports science team; usually, a match/data analyst, performance analyst, couple of sports scientists, coaches, nutritionist (if not done as part of the SS role).

Have to say, something doesn't seem right with so many injuries.

Danny Webb?s interview on Football Heaven Grigg is out for a while, looks like the majority of his season will be over then. Wonder if some big signings may come in January to replace him and others?

Massive shame.

If that's true its a massive blow, and it makes you wonder if its that bad will he come back at his age?
We all know it takes a lot longer to recover from injury the older you get.

Naturally, the first question will be, what's changed? As you say, from a personnel point of view involved in the conditioning, treatment and rehabilitation of players it appears very little.

And Josh Stones didn't get injured as Oldham were fogged off.

Don?t think January is the time for big signings - agents and clubs will have us bent over a barrel. They?ll be well aware how desperate we are. Cook already mentioning contract lengths for prospective players in post match today.

I?d prefer to send some loans back (Tanton, Metcalfe - Markanday will go as well unfortunately) and replace these to tide us over until injuries come back. Then give it a good go in the summer, if funds allow

Cooks interview said it all. We have a big squad. Therefore don?t expect to see loads coming in. We need to shift a few out. I don?t want us ti splash out ridiculous money on players who aren?t going to help us long term.

webbs interview states that colclough may be back for nyd, then early jan looks like fleck, palmer, campbell and jacobs are front of the queue, striker looking then like absolute priority to reinforce the ranks with regard to any incomings, i would expect we may not see tanton and metcalfe return.

Something seems to be badly wrong on the SS side of things. Is it a young lad, fresh out of uni?

Come on you must no problem, we've been told often enough by one of your colleagues that with a proper pre-season injuries are preventable. We clearly didn't have a proper structured pre season then.

Blimey that is bad news. For me grigg is the one we couldn?t do without.

I get the feeling January is a massive month on and off the pitch for the club. They certainly need our support

It may not be a smooth ride !

Listened to Webb?s interview with radio Sheffield for an update on the injuries and he?s said the closest to returning is Colclough who could be back NYD, then he mentioned Fleck as being the closest one after that in ?early Jan?, and then he listed off Jacobs, Palmer & Daley-Campbell as being the next lot back with the rest being a ?way off??

So does anyone have any idea what has happened to Dunkley, because I?m fairly sure the last update they gave us was that he?d be back some time between mid December & NYD!!

Another set back? Wouldn?t surprise me with how this seasons gone so far

My fear is Dunkley?s injury is far more serious than any of us know. I really hope he plays again

They said they hoped to have dunkley back a few weeks ago pending approval from a specialist which presumably didn?t come.

There have been pics of him training put out by the club so he?s out there doing stuff.

I have no expert knowledge in this area whatsoever, but a few things occur.
Last season we were obviously very lucky with injuries, but I suspect that when a team is breaking club records it's easier to get over niggles and to ignore them in the first place.
This season must be more intense. We are playing better organised teams than in the National League and there is no downtime during a game. Last season we could coast a bit in games sometimes. That must have an impact.

Plus because of the league we were in cook had the opportunity to rotate the squad for most games
