I thought it could easily have been him instead of Dobra. For the reason you mentioned I'm not sure it would have been a good move.

Personally I do think he has a high opinion of himself possibly elevated by all the adulation he has received previously, possibly from the same folk who are lumping on him now.
He can be frustrating in his movement but he may be working under instructions and he certainly likes to receive the ball deeper in front of his defender and cut inside. That is where most of his success has come since he has been here. If he charged forward every time some nob told him to he'd be offside 10 times a game. If there is a criticism that I'd lay at his feet is that he is a bit of a one tick pony and he needs to expand his game.
