I went in the other week looking for a couple of small gifts for my grandad - nothing exciting, a mug/pint glass and coaster and hat was what I was after

I was told mugs were in available online and nothing else was in stock so for a last minute gift for birthday I had no option but to look elsewhere. Quite why things are online only I?ll never know

Kids, especially like to come away from a game with a little something to remind them of the day,and I'm sure the shop would be crammed, before and after the game if the club used its imagination regards stocking the right stuff. The idea of a market stall,as previously posted,is another good idea. We could also have official stockists of the club's merchandise too.

Here's your issue - https://cfcpersonalisedgifts.co.uk/

A third party (The Go 4 Group Ltd) who I've never heard of making items to order rather than the club shop ordering in bulk and stocking the said items.

Mmm what sort of business model is that? Surely merchandise \ club shop is on the list for the kirks.

With 8 / 9 thousand at home this season and general good will in the town towards the football club I'd be riding it! As Brian potter said......gerrum spending!

Now I think of all my underwhelming visits to the club shop i don't even bother looking

Tbf they did one about the concourses and match day experience last year and don?t think it made a blind bit of difference 🤣

Maybe it did, maybe it didn't, without club feedback, we'll never know.

I thought most of this stuff was already available, have you checked the online store?

I was referring (As was the original post) about the Club Superstore. The one that I've been in and numerous other people and also the kids on Match Days to spend their money to then leave empty handed.

I think if you look online yourself you will/might find one or two of the items mentioned but not the other 18 plus items.

I've taken my Eldest lad (35yrs) into the Store and if he could find something of interest, they didn't have his size. I also taken my youngest lad (8yrs) in with his birthday money or his spending money and the only thing he could find was a plastic key ring that looked cheap and tacky.

A couple of years ago we did players stickers in the programmes. Why couldn't we do a Booklet with all the squad players & Back room staff on each page like the Panini Books. They could issue a sticker with the program and have the others for sale in the store.

The idea's are out there but I don't think there is any cash outlay or dedicated person for dealing with it.

Can I ask what sorts of things you were looking for?

What about some sweatshirts Pete with the badge on. There are hoodies and t-shirts but no sweatshirts , these would be ideal for the colder months.

With only Sports Direct selling popular merchandise in town, there's a wide open market for CHESTERFIELD FC related sportswear and other stuff.
When I was a kid, I would have bought anything town related. I bought my first scarf from Cliff Gladwin, my mam knitted my hat and gloves, but I would have bought everything from the club to support it. I'm sure people will buy,if it's there.

Key rings in stock would have been nice.
I live in the south and there is no chance of anyone picking up my keys by mistake !

There's little money to be made. We are a small club with a limited number of people willing to part with their cash for things that require the club to stump up cash to have made bespoke and run the risk of not selling.

Very helpful response. It does sound a tadd negative, we can just board the shop up now and save on a wage too.

Possibly factually true but doesn't every club start somewhere. Bournemouth, Wrexham, Stockport, etc etc.

Surely the post is about improving the Superstore which improves the awareness and potential sales giving the ability to purchase a wider range of items.

We have an increased audience and fan base so let us try and capitalise.

sometimes a little is more

Fair enough. If not viable then say discontinued rather than showing them out of stock.

I always buy loads of bits and bobs when I come up.
Was hoping to next week actually.

And do they really call it a superstore? (As opposed to Club Shop)? Never noticed that.

Again what business model is that ? Don?t have any stock just in case it doesn?t sell?

We should be making the most of key events / seasons like :
Pre season
Start of season
Xmas
Special events ie cup games
Big club events ie
Summer
Winter

So much opportunity

Just because it's not what you wanted to hear doesn't mean it's not helpful. If it's factually true then there's little more to say. Could we do better? Perhaps. Is there any financial incentive to do so? Unlikely.

The club struggles for storage space so has to have high turnover stock.

I agree there should be more variety and lower priced items. The club are looking in to it.

The new bobble hat is good. There?s supposed to be quality scarves coming for scarf day but they should be out sooner imo.

Struggles for space what an utterly ridiculous excuse

Yep, they could put a few slim line toughened glass display cabinets in the concourses. It would brighten the place up.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
