yes it would, but he said "one or two draws in to wins" (or inferred that anyway) that's only 4pts more

WHEN A TEAM HAS A REAL GO AT US AND I MEAN PHYSICALITY, PACE CLOSING DOWN ETC WE STRUGGLE TO CHANGE OUR GAME PLAN OR WE SIMPLY CANNOT GET PAST THAT STYLE.
INJURIES ARE HAVING AN IMPACT ON US AND I THINK A FULLY FIT COLCLOUGH WILL BE A BIG PLUS FOR US.
Strangely, I think pace itself can be negated when a team plays 2 banks of 5 against it. However, moving the ball quicker and having a shot from distance can help to overcome such defensive set ups. Unfortunately, with these sort of teams we tend to need to breach their defensive walls more than once because we are always open to conceding from a break away.

Every fair minded fan recognises the opposite's true, though.
But for a couple of daft goals conceded, same amount of missed opportunities, some jaw dropping reffing and crippling injuries we could quite easily be top three.
The squad will evolve in Jan. Influential players will return. We will challenge the top seven.
Paul Cook will get it right...

Talking of jaw dropping decisions Port Vale succumbed to one at Bromley on Saturday. Apparently Vale fans didn't take it in a gentlemanly manner.

In other incidents- did you see the Hojland Walker incident- with Walker clearly feigning he had been on the end of a serious head butt, and the officials having none of it. Fair enough- but makes a nonsense of sone of the sending offs we have suffered over the years. The Curtis Weston one particularly comes to mind,

Wow, there's some high quality play in those highlights, especially goalies.

I did, wasn?t good but not as bad as Cucurella trying to claim he was assaulted by a Brentford player when he walked into his shoulder and went down rolling around holding his face.

Retrospective action for simulation, would make them think twice and maybe put a few sh..house coaches on the dole. But then again controversy like this makes for good tv and helps sell adverts, so maybe not.

This was introduced back in 2017...FA made it possible for a retrospective 2 game ban for these incidents but i dont think its been used much if at all since. Was announced in May 2017 and came into force from the 17/18 season.

Good spot. So that seems to have gone down the same plug hole as adding the correct amount of stoppage time. Strange, why would things introduced to improve the game be swept under the carpet?

I would hazard a guess the Walker would have been applauded for his actions by the coaching staff and if Hojland had got sent off, applauded by the City fans as well.

Having said that - we are 6th and have dropped points at home on numerous occasions - plus some very dodgy refereeing decisions.
Cook will get it right and as it stands I suspect we will finish top 7 with a go at the play offs.

It's only encouraged because it's not punished.
