So, a potential debate about the use of housing stock, has now descended into someone being offended by adjectives, another being offended by the term indigenous, and the usual Hamster chipping in something completely off on a tangent, because he hates me and wants to get one over on me at any opportunity.

Mate, I've twice challenged you to explain your points; you've twice run off in the other direction....end of discussion.

Actually you raise valid points.

I?m not an internationalist - I firmly believe the duty of the trade unions and labour movement is first and foremost to represent and protect the rights and privileges and improvements of the working class people of this country. First and foremost.

Yes we should take genuine refugees?as we did for example when the Jewish kids arrived at Liverpool st station in the 1930s and have done since - we should absolutely NOT put economic migrants looking for a better life, and I really dont blame them for leaving a corrupt toilet country and

awful regime, but Albania? Really? We put housing these people ahead of of our own young families struggling on minimum wage?

And of course much of this is now under modern slavery, pay ?X and then you work for us until you?ve paid off the debt. Another issue ignores

Regardless of whether you are internationalist or not, Capital is.

I love this bit at the end:

Quote

He told the paper of his financial claim: ?I?ve always been offended by pub names like these but I?ve only recently discovered how I can challenge them online.?

He added: ?I?ve stopped all the terrorism stuff now.?

Exactly how I see it.

The thing is, these people who are so offended by adjectives and being indigenous to their own country, never seem to be the ones that want to solve the problem, they just bleat about it and label everyone else as racists, for wanting the government to get a grip on it.

I mean, these same people could collectively solve the problem overnight.

Get online, form a group; I don't know...'UK homes for migrants'....then, those with spare bedrooms can house one or more of these young lads; those with young children could move one kid into the other kid's bedroom and they could use bunk beds, thus freeing up a bedroom for a young migrant lad.

In fact, for the true lefties, you're kinda killing two birds with the proverbial. Government pays the homeowners, thus removing the need for the 'heaving profits' middlemen companies like say, SERCO and the profiteering housing associations; whilst easing the burden on the taxpayer and the hospitality industry. Not forgetting the excellent support it would provide for educating and integration. It's a win win...win!

I wonder, just how passionate these same people would be to set this up and volunteer their services....

I think everyone with any sense wants something done about it, I think people just differ 1) in what method is used to deal with it 2) to what extent and 3) which party should take the lead on it. Don't think you'll find many people outside of far left circles who want unfettered immigration.

Also your suggestion is a tad false equivalence-y. Allowing somebody into your home is different to allowing somebody into the wider community. I wouldn't want Mohammed in my home any more or less than I'd want Mildred from top of Boza in my home.

They don't need to now, the Government have thrown ?3.5m, spread over two years to solve the problem.

Meanwhile the Armed Forces charity sector (in 2021) raised over ?850m. I don't have the figures for 2024 but I would hazard a guess its a tad more than ?1.75m.

I used to raise money for many different charities, a different one every year but since 2015 my focus has been on military charities, for the sole reason Governments show little support apart from throwing out false promises around Remembrance Day.

You mean those taxpaying, ex-servicemen, being left to die on the streets? Whilst the migrants are being housed instead of them....at taxpayers expense? Garbage argument, mate....

I'm thinking those who are offended by adjectives would love to step forward.

I guess it depends on your passions....tbf I'd probably take Mohammad over Mildred, less risk 👀

There is an estimate of 5000 veterans living on the streets. Many of them will have tattoo's and wear the wrong trainers and may even be a bit overweight so I doubt you will notice them.

I guess the question has to be, under Labour's non existent immigration stance, coupled with 'Operation Scatter'; how many illegals can Labour put in specific areas, in the hope of tipping the next election vote in their favour, before Reform can take hold of the electorate.
