So after 20 games we are sitting pretty in 6th place!

Would you have taken that before the season kicked off ? I certainly would have.

I think it?s about where I expected us to be. Taking the injuries in to account and not having a settled side all season I think we?re doing well.

Yep, it's not really been commented on but without seeing the game, it seems to me that Ollie Banks deserves a medal. He's played 'pivot', the Busquet role, on his own, in a great away victory. That's no pleasure cruise.

Thought we'd have probably been higher but all things considered we are doing fine.

If we can get through the next few games and into January?s wheeling and dealing period and a few less injuries in a similar position, ie in the play offs and only a handful of points off of the automatics I think we?d be sitting very handily placed for a punt at the automatics.

We are exceeding my expectations so far as its our first season after 6 long years away. I was expecting a season of consolidatiion with a mid table to lower half finish so yeah well happy so far

That would be extremely underwhelming. Cooks target will be top 3, no doubt about it.

When you consider that yesterdays win was our first back to back league wins of the season, fact courtesy of Tooleys Take, I had to check myself to confirm it, and you see where we sit in the table you see how well we could really do with a cpl of 3 or 4 wins on the trot runs.

The question was what were our thoughts and expectations not Cooks

Fair enough, just pointing it out. I expected us to finish at least in the play offs, that hasn?t changed.

At the start of the season Im sure after 20 games in and being in 6th place we would all have taken that.
Automatic promotion still within our grasp however, the lads are doing brill so far.

Yes agree, and all this without really setting the league alight with a run of wins, certainly not given up on the top 3 yet.

Definitely
We need to remember we have been 6 long years out of this league ( and they were long )
At season start I would have taken a mid table finish but looking and seeing the teams we have already faced there is no reason why back to back promotions cant be achieved.
What an achievement that would be..

I'm enjoying the season very much, but the injuries have been horrific. Not many other clubs could sustain the injuries we have, and be in 6th place. If Carlisle had the same amount of wounded we have, I could understand why,and have empathy with their position.
It shows how together this club is at the present time, that we can be in a position to challenge for an automatic promotion place, even with all the players out.
I wish all our players a speedy recovery, and especially Tyrone Williams, who has shown he's more than good enough for this league.

Being top scorers always gives you a chance, a bit more consistency with the clean sheets and there?s a spring board for the second half of the season.
God I hate this league.

My potentially optimistic prediction at the start of the season was a 3rd place finish. To be three points away at this stage, especially with half a team nursing an ailment is pretty hard to argue with. Hasn't been plain sailing, but I didn't think it would be.

Cookie has only ever won promotion by winning the league. Unusual stat
A new hope.
