I'm not sure either club would be bothered enough to want to do that.

Surely better on a Saturday if possible than a Tuesday night in January?

I suspect they'd rather have a blank Saturday to prep for the next league game.

Did it against the scabs in 88/89 (a trophy game) on fa cup round 2 day as we were both out of the fa cup. 2-1 win for us, if I remember correctly Steve Cherry was in goal for us on loan. Might have been his debut actually.

I?d go with the fact they?d probably prefer a blank midweek to prepare for the following Saturday league game.

If it was a league game, absolutely. We'll see, but I'd be surprised if CFC are motivated to want to move it.

The following Saturday is a tough away day at fellow play off/promotion chasing Grimsby, and given now you have to play a strong side in the cup and with our injury probs I can see switching to Saturday May have its benefits, but like you say we?ll see.

Are not our injured players all set for a return to fitness by January?

If that really does happen then a number of them will need bringing up to match fitness.

Either way, a Saturday game would be good.

Playing Colchester away would seem sensible instead of a Tuesday night
