It's poor (and fairly infantile).

It's also a fairly major own goal when you also (seemingly) want to make serious political points on here.

You'd be likely to get more support and even respect on here if you stopped the 'you smell' level nonsense that you indulge in at times.

Truth
But when you?ve had your career belittled and even service record jeered at by the likes of Mercury and Quaker it gets tiresome.

Yet again no reply from S&D.

At least you question, debate and discuss. He/she just makes/copy and pastes articles we can all source and adds nothing to the debate. Do you seriously think the post I questioned made any point of debate?

When you read a newspaper or an article on the website that?s what is is, an article to advise the viewer of the latest developments/news

No context is needed, that?s down to the reader/viewer to take in the information and interpret it

I?m sure you?re aware of the controversy surrounding the barge, the narrative of the vulnerable decent folk on their who escaped war and strife, many who are traumatised by being back living on water

I need add no context

But we all have access to the internet and this is a debate board. Is this some kind of public service? Otherwise it looks like it?s posted for other reasons as you offer no debate.

Assad, Alli, Starmer, surely no connection between the three?
Maybe Alli is the meat in the sandwich, well didn’t he have connections to both?

I have just been looking through this thread for the last hour, catching up on stuff I missed whilst having a few months sabbatical.

The condemnation and jailing of the race rioters who were attacking hotels and the police is completely justified. Anytime law and order is compromised by rioters attacking the general public and particularly the police should be dealt with hard and fast in my opinion.

However, it all stirred up memories from 1984 where police were attacked with petrol bombs in Dinnington, violence and disorder in Maltby where 5 police officers had to flee the station as it came under attack in fear of their lives. In Rotherham (same town as the race riots this year) street barricades were set on fire and again, police were attacked.

Are some riots justified and some not?

I made a similar point, ref the miners. Of course, the usual suspects didn't have a response, as it only highlights their hypocrisy and double standards....

I did think before I clicked "Post" that it was a topic too close to home and folk wouldn't want to be drawn in to a discussion about it but I just thought it was worth bringing up for balance. In my eyes a riot is a riot and assaulting the police and throwing petrol bombs no matter what the reason is, it's plain wrong.

My wife's brother was arrested and jailed for a could of months during the strike for assaulting a police horse. Fully deserved to go inside but he was very young and easily led at the time. No excuse though.

Agree to an extent. And not supporting any actions of violence to police etc etc. As you say, it's plain wrong.

There were some differences as far as I could see, and from the reports that I saw. In the recent riots there seemed to be large groups of people targeting and attacking members of the public fairly randomly. As I recall, there were gangs attacking homes and businesses and people in the street too.

Mob rule and anarchy. Left unchecked, the rest of the shocking story writes itself.
