I would like to think that the majority of us, regardless of our backgrounds and our views can have a sensible debate concerning any given subject. However, it's been clear to me for some time now, that there is a growing issue concerning some of the content on Bob's Board. In part, that's because some of the more prominent and sensible contributors are posting less frequently, but more so because that void has been filled by wind-up merchants, people who are unable to express their emotions in an acceptable manner, and there are one or two who are obviously up to no good, don't support our club and are here solely to cause unrest.

For example (this is supposedly one of our own fans commenting on Dobra, a player who made 43 appearances last season, scored 10 goals in a championship winning side, not to mention his 18 appearances and 3 goals this season in a side currently ninth in the division and five points off an automatic promotion spot):

Here's another one, talking about one of our greatest managers, https://www.thecfss....dpost&p=1660656

Wading through questionable and unacceptable tripe like this will be the sole reason why many of the regulars are sadly giving it a miss these days.

Some other, more scientific/professional forums have separate threads for the wind up trolls - 'ramping -moaning' threads. Surely moderators should have enough leverage to remove the usual detritus to another, less serious thread and they can spout all they like. It's tedious, tbh to let a few self-seeking dribblers clutter everything up and cloud the debate unnecesarily. Some really interesting and measured posts are thought-provoking and insightful and the whole thread gets destroyed or distracted with cr*p or fresh, 'nuisance' threads. With respect to 'Bob's Board', maybe a bit of restructuring to 'manage' things into 'valid' and other, more hyperbolic stuff. Just a thought.

I don't think I've been too negative personally, my opinion of DJ last night is long held and often borne out by his application during games.

Maybe so but friends of mine or folk I know refrain from posting due to the antics of a few irritating and regular posters.
I sincerely believe they get some twisted form of enjoyment about our poor showings or just enjoy looking stupid.

We are all allowed an opinion but there's opinions and the bizarre ramblings of "the few".

Personally after 6 years in non league Im just happy to be in league 2

I don't think anyone is suggesting the thought police should pay a visit to your good self - it's this tedious banality that a few posters peddle in order to clog the largely sensible debate and the asking of questions following defeats and even victories

In agreement and also know of folk not bothering with BB anymore due to "childish idiots"
Of the 3 main protagonists 2 appear that they think they are are clever making comments they don't necessarily agree with themselves but do so 'cos they think/know it will antagonise folk, there must be a medical term for it. The consensus is that the other protagonist is just plain THICK.

They're ruining the credibility of this board and temporary bans should be permanent.

This forum was the go-to platform for concerned Spireites during our descent down the divisions.

There were a group of contributors, including the unforgettable 'F2' and our recently departed friend Nigel, who professionally and assiduously investigated, exposed, then narrated scandals which seemed to emerge on a weekly basis.

Make no mistake - we probably wouldn't have the club we see today were it not for their efforts.

But these days, yeah, it so often resembles a playground

Y'know what, though? Who cares. I choose to find the cranks and oddballs and hypocrites peppering these pages entertaining. Especially those still so obviously sullen over a certain ex manager's exit. And if they go too far? The 'Report' facility's fully functional again.

So celebrate these times, folks. Laugh at the loons as I do. Because that's surely a sign we've nowt much serious to concern ourselves with on Sheff' Road...

Honestly, mate; you're as much part of the playground shenanigans as anyone else, and you're one of the worst protagonists; not to mention the shocking levels of hypocrisy you display.

Blue 5 has literally just written about wind up merchants, and here you are, trying to do exactly that, whilst sneeringly attempting to occupy the moral high ground. Why not try giving it a rest....

We're on about the footy section things involving discrediting the club it's nowt to do with some of the garbage on the personal section and I think you know that, but dont want to miss a chance on some pathetic point scoring.

I agree that the posters in question have personal issues that could be medical or psychological. For that reason, they don't really bother me because they should be pitied rather than reviled. What actually annoys me far more is the fact that others continue to reply to their posts. This, of course, feeds their ego/affliction, and it continues. I've posted this before, but I'll try again , and excuse me, but I really feel the need to shout :- IF NOBODY EVER REPLIES TO THEIR OPENING POSTS THEY WILL JUST FADE AWAY INTO INSIGNIFICANCE. To my mind, those who grace their opening posts with a reply are every bit as culpable as the original posters. JUST IGNORE THEM.

Interesting I thought the same about the two you highlighted (Bread and Cum) especially the former. They aren't natural comments even for the most cynical, jaundiced or pessimistic supporters.

However it is also hard to believe they are supporters of another team when they are on here during match days when their team is playing.

On your general point I also think it inhibits constructive criticism as those that attempt it get tarred with the same brush as those who are out to cause dissent.

It's clear to me, as it obviously is to you that something's not quite right when it comes to the content of certain posts. There's nothing constructive about them, they are targeted and abusive.

Given where we have come from and what we were subjected to, it makes me laugh that people are losing their minds over tactics, team selection, performances, dropped points, etc.

Given where we have come from we need to progress like other teams have e.g Wrexham & Stockport.Anything below playoffs is a major under achievement.

So you are disputing what we are being told, with full explanation, by the Board and Management team. We get it, you know better than them and you don't support them.

That's your opinion.

However, we're 18 games into a 46 game season yet you're flapping and panicking about a whole host of subjects that you have no control over. Given your background and qualifications, there is absolutely no way you conduct yourself like that on a professional basis so why do you resort to whipping up the hysteria on here?

People say that you're a good guy and that you're just having a laugh but that doesn't transmit well on here. A couple of your recent posts regarding the Williams / Grimes partnership and Mandy's lack of game time I've agreed with you on but your scattergun approach to creating multiple threads detracts from what's being said.

To be honest I use this forum to voice my frustration at results etc. Maybe bringing back the football phone in is the answer. I just don't take the board to seriously tbh.

That kind of comment is legitimate but coming from you it is predictable.

What we are on about is the likes of 'Bread' stating that away fans hate him and now so do our fans when talking about Dobra. That guy 'Cum' had some similar lines about Cook.

Do you think that is acceptable?

I?m sure we will progress, is progression only getting promoted year after year. Should we be in the Premier League in three more years, Champions League in five years etc, etc, it’s all about perspective.Stockport didn?t get promotion at the first attempt back in the EFL, neither have Notts County. Wrexham did but had the financial input. After the 6 years of purgatory I?m quite willing to take another year or two with Cook and the Kirks at the helm, yes it?s been below par these last few games but I?m taking it in my stride. Certainly not unduly concerned in the least.

The board is seen as a bit of a joke among other fans talking on social media and at times it?s hard to disagree with their comments about some postings at times. I try to point out to them that it?s the minority dragging it down at times.

We?re not operating on the same playing field as them though financially. Wrexham have the Hollywood pair plus the additional exposure and finance it?s brought them while Stockport have a wealthy owner who is a fan happy to throw money at it. Yes we now have the Kirk?s but they have, rightly, said they will not just bankroll things for millions upon millions.
