We?ve never had a spell under Cook when things are bad. Will see if he can sort it out, but he?s caused a lot of the recent stuff himself due to either sheer stubbornness or lack of tactical awareness.
The worry is the season peters out into bottom half nothingness, season ticket sales drop thought the floor and the playing budget is cut. We struggle to get the players we need through the door and it?s a re run of the same failings we?ve seen so far with sub standard players who can?t play Cooks tactics.
I disagree. When Cook first came back we had a very poor spell but he eventually managed to get us into the NL playoffs then fell at the first hurdle.
However, more to the point he improved us for the following season but we lost at Wembley.
Then he improved us further and we got promoted back to te NL.
The lesson to learn is that it took the best part of 3 seasons to get to where we are today and it might take a few seasons more before we can move higher still. It only took the stags 13 seasons and they stuck with Clough during some very bad times.
Our squad has been severely weakened with the injuries we have. We can argue all we like about the average age etc but some of those moaning now are the ones that were saying how good certain players were when they were signed and what a good squad we have. Like it or not we have to limp on through December at least so let?s give them all the support they need because they certainly need it.
