Like practically all professional clubs if an offer comes in that is in the clubs interest we?re a selling club and players will move on. I also can?t see us standing in the way of any player moving up the leagues especially a move for someone like Berry to a prem club. While I don?t believe this story one bit a fee like ?5m coming in is much more likely to aid us going forward than keeping Berry especially if he gets the hump on over us stopping him getting a move up the leagues.

Go on then, I?ll go ?900k and 25% sell on, instead be very surprised if he went for more than ?1m as the cash figure.

Ayup mate, if he was doing this at 18/19 like KD was then in todays market I?d could see a fee well over ?1m but like we both seem to agree on if he does go in January I?d be pleasantly surprised at the cash payment being over ?1m.

I like Berry but for me he is still more of an impact player off of the bench , whenever he starts he very rarely produces in fact on Saturday at Exeter he just seemed to stroll through it for the most part. Anything over a million and I'll drive him there myself!!

I've heard so many rumours over the last few weeks regarding Berry, and the clubs mentioned vary from Mansfield and Rotherham in the league above, Blackburn and Sheffield United in the Championship and now Crystal Palace from the Premiership. For me,he needs to stay till the end of the season, prove he's more than a super-sub, and he'll be able to choose from several high end Championship clubs at the very least.

However, if a Club is prepared to meet our asking price and James gets a dream move which might set him up for life why does it make any sense in risking him sustaining an injury which could jeopardise such a lucrative move a few months later?

If he gets injured, just sell him to Peterborough 👍

Oh, I agree if that happens, then all's good, but if he can become the player he can be,then the sky really could be the limit. Don't get me wrong,if we can get ?5m for him, or anywhere near, then great.

I really like Berry, and he has raw, unquestionable talent, the like of which we haven't seen for a very long time, in my opinion. We do only see it sporadically but, like Goku says, this would probably be enough for a "big boy" club to snap him up and see what happens....however....six figures would surely be enough, I'm afraid.

He has the potential to be a ?5M+ player. As to whether he'll be one whilst he's with us, I dunno. I'd be after decent sell-on clause either way.

He isn?t even a 90 minute man yet , yes he can finish but he is anything but a million pound player, potential but would not get 1 minute in the prem

Wor I saw on Saturday was a player that did the right thing when he got the ball - control, running off the ball, accurate passing - but his involvement was minimal. We didn't have the werewithal as a team to give him the ball.

At the moment,it just depends on which James Berry turns up. The one who's unplayable and demands the ball,or the one who waits for the ball, won't track back, and couldn't beat an egg, let alone a defender.

Well, beating somebody can be an inconsistent feature of anybody's game, but Cook wouldn't stand for the other features you mention.

Wor I've got to get me brain around is whether the team does better if Berry (or anybody else in the 3) keeps out wide while we have possession, and so gets a lot less ball or get's more involved to show his skills off. Keeping out wide might enable other players to have a lot more space to play, so Cook likes it. But us fans just think Berry is not contributing. Perhaps only CPS is qualified to answer.

Well a lot of clubs have their eye on Berry. He might be worth a 1.5 mill punt from a premier league club which is peanuts to them. Players who run at defenders take a shot and score are like gold dust and certainly worth a gamble. I would be surprised if he is still here after the January window so get what we can with a decent sell on.

Beating his defender isn't going to happen every time, we all know that, but now and again, he doesn't drive at the defence at all. Yes, teams are going to double up on him, but that should leave room for Lewis Gordon to overlap or the man behind the stiker move into the left channel. Berry is much better than he thinks he is, and he's with the manager who will bring his swagger to the fore, hopefully 😁.

I like Berry and he has potential whether with us or higher. But I think he believes he is better than he actually is at the moment.
