I assume someone else has spotted this but only just noticed Salford away is off because of their continued participation in the FA Cup.
This will give us the opportunity to prepare properly for the last 16 Trophy game the following week.

Don't think we should be necessarily reading that into his recall. It was an obvious decision and we'd be struggling to fill the bench on Tuesday without

Good !!!
God I hate this league.

Considering we play MK on Tuesday night I think it is quite obvious that any player involved in that game will not even be considered for a game the day after.

Just give the reserves some more experience.
God I hate this league.

I'd like to see what percentage of the people now say consolidation would be a success were saying playoffs are minimum in the summer. I suspect there would be a few embarrassing faces

Given the players we had available in August, I said we would make the play offs. As we now have half those players in the physio room, I will reassess that to consolidation.
What is embarrassing about that?

what this means is that Banks will be one of the CM's and that Hobson will play as one of the 3, either as a starter or sub. Our CM contingent is down to 3, Banks, Oldaker, Jones. Scratting around for other volunteers will mean considering Araujo, Mandeville and the Academy lad.

I think Aroujo could do a job there. He is mobile, can see a pass, and win a header, whilst being capable of making a tackle or two. The problem being we only have 3 fit CBs so do we risk all 3 to start in a game at the same time?

I thought Jones was one of our walking wounded but is the sort to turn out if called upon.

On a different note, I saw a bit of the Wealdstone cup game and they had a tall young lad called Cesay playing at RB then in midfield who caught my eye.

Gordon also played there for a big chunk of the second half against Barrow, when Naylor pushed up to play off the CF in a big push for the winner.

Or move forward a game that is midweek against someone else who is already out/doesn't have a game?

For example Colchester don't have a game and we played them away midweek, rather go there on a Sat if possible surely

I believe both clubs have to agree to a fixture change and with our current injury situation it may be viewed as a decent break in the January window.

In spite of what Walton says, Jacobs was possibly our best attacker until he got injured, and he wriggled free of some heavy attention on a couple of occasions creating fleeting danger. Cook must have seen those titbits as encouraging.

Off at a slight tangent, I thought Jessop did well. He's fast and he put the best cross of the day in late on.

I really rated Jessop because he was the best player against Matlock in the PSF, which is nothing to go on at all, but he was extremely quick and put in a performance when all the others were playing at 60%. And he was an excellent crosser of the ball.

Plus the loss of any revenue from Sky for the midweek match on Sky Sports plus moving it to a 3pm Saturday that can?t be televised.

Is there any revenue specifically for those games?

Nope I think it is just a season wide package

Salford game was due to be on TV as well but don't think we will lose out due to that being moved (would imagine the rearranged Tue night game would be on anyway)

That's what I thought. Clubs will get what they get regardless.

Tbh, I'm still a little sore regarding our toothless performance.
With the chance of bagging a great tie and more cash in the coffers, I think it's an opportunity wasted not to mentioned taking another scalp higher up the league pyramid.
Even if Caldwell wasn't in charge a defeat like that really p155es me off

The fact that is was a Caldwell team makes it worse

A lot of folk who've been watching for 50 years plus can recall many a time of being "really drunk off", Blyth,Grimsby, Walsall, Enfield, Basingstoke etc etc you'll get used to it unfortunately.
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Grimsby 1979 brings a particular chill to the spine. Our most expensive squad ever assembled.
A Phil Walker last minute equaliser at the Mariners brings a replay to Saltergate. 2-0 up, we contrive to lose 3-2. Gutting.

I'd have gone for Bearnie f'in Wright scoring from a misplaced header deflecting of his large shoulder in the 2nd replay at Derby costing us a game at Old Trafford. Bad night that was.

Yes, recall that well.
It could be Exeter if it brings them a tie v Spurs, Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool or one of the Manchester clubs
