This could be a health and safety issue for you, you may fall over lifting your hands off your zimmer to raise your scarf. Seriously though a great idea and not aware it has been done anywhere else.

Will you be partaking then? If so be mindful not to scar your scarf with food stains whilst troughing in the lounges

During post match libations, instead of moaning about refs or midfield permutations the conversation moved on to badges and then cloth badges on scarfs. A bit of I've got that one ensued resulting in "you show me yours and I'll show you mine". So for the Trannies match a few of us will be digging out some old (very) moth bitten relics.

From there we concluded it could be good for nostalgia or a p..take if a few more could turn out donning their old scarfs. Whether it be the one your granny knitted and you attempted to sow on some badges, or that 1970ish 'silky number' you tied round your wrist or pushed through your belt or the long effort you wrapped round the stomach but as long since shrunken maybe that borrowed tangerine and white number that was very popular round town Jan 69 but never returned

A bizarre idea instigated by some excellent "Rocket" at 4.7 ABV but would be good to see a few relics.

I still have a blue and white alternating square blocks scarf with the shirt badge from 69-70 championship season sewn on it. The cloth badge with the cock and pynot on. My Mum bought it from Stephensons Arcade and sewn it on for me. And I still have a white silk scarf with blue print (although badly faded now ) showing the crooked spire and the name Spireites on it. I remember buying that from Cliff Gladwins sports shop on South Street. I also have a blue and white college scarf with a Chesterfield turn me on patch sewn on it (and they're just about the only thing that does turn me on these days BTW lol). I bought that scarf from Suggs Sports and the patch from the old supporters club shop that used to be at the top of Foljambe Road and Saltergate around 1978/79.

God I feel old lol. Which begs the question why I have been stopped yesterday by stewards on entering the ground (East Stand) for searches for the fifth time this season? Once the steward actually did a frisk search and on the other occasions he's had me emptying my pockets and unzipping my jacket. Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing this? I hardly look like a young hooligan. I'm living on a pension and can't afford Stone Island gear lol.

Luckily I have not had to undergo a search, but I have that many layers on nowadays impersonating the Michelin tyre man that it would be rather time consuming for them.

I was just wondering if many more are being stopped and searched and if it's a new policy this season. As I have said yesterday was the fifth time I've been searched this season whereas I haven't been searched for years before this season. I have noticed it's always been the matchday drafted in stewards that have done it.

Advise them politely to do one.
Or just refuse on age grounds.

Hell's grandads eh AC. They've probably watched too many Guy Ritchie films, and expecting a sawn off Purdy under your Crombie lol. Are they mistaking you for Freddie Foreman, or Mad Frankie Frazier 🤔.

Hells Great Grandad these days mate lol. Funnily enough I had a black Crombie back when I was 16 purchased from Stone Dri on Burlington Street and I once met Frankie Frazer at a book signing.
Thanks mate for bringing back the memories. ;)

Nice idea this one. Could be good if we could do it for one of the home fixtures in the xmas period, either of the fixture against the different dons

Yeah they were quite expensive at the time but I did manage a pair of genuine bottle green Levi Sta Press courtesy of my mother winning a fair sum on Bingo at the Top Rank club . Best Mum ever!

Good idea. We only picked the tranny match 'cos it's the next home game and we can't see past the next pint pot. So unless anyone as any better ideas let's make it new years day v MKD, it also gives more time to spread the word and tackle the loft maybe.
